As if losing Dimitar Berbatov to the Red Devils last summer wasn’t bad enough, it now appears as though another Tottenham striker has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford!
Just what is it about footballers opening up this week and revealing that they’d like to play for a rival club? Chelsea’s Salomon Kalou has already expressed a desire to hook up with his buddies at Arsenal, and now the Daily Telegraph report that Roman Pavlyuchenko is all about Manchester United, who just so happen to be Spurs’ opponents in this Sunday’s Carling Cup final. Do these players have no shame?
Asked whether he wanted to play for Manchester United, Pavlyuchenko said: “It would be wrong not to dream about this.
“I have realised that the English Premier League is exactly why you should start playing football in the first place. And Manchester United is the leader of it. Once your first dream comes true you must start dreaming of another target.”
Will Roman’s dream come true further down the line? Many Tottenham supporters must surely be a bit annoyed that a fairly recent acquisition is speaking about joining Manchester United! Would Red Devils supporters like to see the striker lining up at Old Trafford? He has a golden opportunity to impress Sir Alex Ferguson at the weekend.
