While he’s only started nine games this season for former coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, this outspoken striker is once again talking a big game with a new manager in the house. Will his mouth and past brilliance get him another shot with the starting XI? He’s hoping so. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Rafa Benitez has tried to work his magic in the past to bring in a worthy right-back for Liverpool’s starting XI; but so far things haven’t worked out as he’d planned. Instead of picking a player with little Premier League experience this summer, Benitez could be primed to snap this right-back that could be priced to sell. He’d be well worth the £9m transfer fee! Chelsea’s wealth and power could be taking a huge hit after it was announced that Roman Abramovich could be half than me he used to be. It looks like the credit crunch is hurting the mega-rich as well! [Read the rest of this entry »]
Every club has a catalyst, a player than no matter how down the club is, can turn things around in the blink of an eye. Steven Gerrard is that player for Liverpool. Even Liverpool’s best striker in some time realises that. [Read the rest of this entry »]
This hasn’t been the best of seasons for Newcastle United. From the rift with ownership, to Keegan’s departure, and Kinnear’s health woes, it’s safe to say that things can’t get worse for the Tyneside club. While the tunnel has been dark, there does appear to be light at the end, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. [Read the rest of this entry »]
Liverpool’s ownership continues to tiptoe around the biggest issue at Anfield in what could be the most important league campaign in a long, long time. But can they push aside the issue when one of the biggest names at the club is making comments like this? [Read the rest of this entry »]
Leaving aside the fact that this source incorrectly states that Saturday’s match took place at the Ricoh Arena, could this man be responsible for Blackburn’s continued participation in the hallowed competition?
That’s certainly the opinion of Coventry’s Michael Doyle, who reckons that the chubby rose-giver (pictured in the Daily Telegraph) was an inconvenience that the Sky Blues could have done without. He reckons that without the intervention of the said streaker, Chris Coleman’s side could already be looking at a money-spinning home tie with Chelsea.
“We could have done without him,” admitted Doyle. “If he hadn’t come on, we’d have seen out the three minutes added time for all the subs.”
While Blackburn will refute the suggestion that the idiot on the pitch kept their FA Cup dreams alive, we’ll never know whether things might have been different on Saturday had he decided to keep his clothes on and his flowers to himself!

It appears as though this player’s Anfield career is coming to an end, although it seems he could have a nice dilemma on his hands as far as the next club is concerned. Which Serie A outfit will he opt for, if this source is correct in claiming that no less than three Italian giants are chasing his signature. [Read the rest of this entry »]
West Ham supporters were waiting to hear the worst news after watching their up-and-coming superstar limp off the field in their match against Middlesbrough; but after hearing this news, it looks like the dark clouds won’t be hanging over Upton Park for very long. [Read the rest of this entry »]
This time a week ago, Phil Scolari was manager of Chelsea FC. Since then, he has been axed by Roman Abramovich, with Guus Hiddink brought in as temporary gaffer. The Blues made hard work of beating Watford on Saturday, although the team selection contradicted a claim that the Brazilian made last week about a certain striker pairing… [Read the rest of this entry »]
This striker has scored seven goals for the Gunners this season, and he’s clearly frustrated at the fact he continues to be no more than a squad player. With Eduardo returning to the Arsenal fold, he has issued a public plea to Arsene Wenger that he should be starting every match. [Read the rest of this entry »]
When the draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup was made, it appeared that Everton had a pretty tall order to make it through to the quarter finals. They were underdogs to beat Liverpool in a 4th round replay at Goodison Park, while Aston Villa’s away form this season meant that reaching the last eight would represent a fantastic opportunity to win silverware. Heard the one about Rafael Benitez, some contracts and a pair of American owners? It’s a continuing saga at Anfield, but one which needs to be resolved in the summer, or it could mean an end to the Spaniard’s reign as Liverpool manager. [Read the rest of this entry »]
It appears that no player is immune to a bid from Manchester City, especially if they’re an established international playing for a Champions League club. Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised to hear that they lodged a bid for this Chelsea player, hoping to add to their growing list of ex-Blues recruits. [Read the rest of this entry »]
Forget Stoke, West Brom or Middlesbrough. If Portsmouth could have hand-picked Saturday’s opponents at Fratton Park, it probably would have been Manchester City, with Mark Hughes’ team without a win on the road since August. Indeed, their 3-0 victory at Sunderland in the summer now seems like a distant memory for supporters, who might have expected the recent new signings to spell an improvement away from Eastlands.
