Will THIS MIDFIELDER play in the Manchester United defence against Inter? The injuries are piling up for the holders

by stresster on February 23rd, 2009 1 comment

We can remember a time when Roy Keane was employed in the heart of defence for the Red Devils, although Tuesday’s match at the San Siro is not the ideal match to have a midfielder having to improvise as a centre-back. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Have Liverpool supporters given up on catching Manchester United? Surely it’s all about second place?

by stresster on February 22nd, 2009 26 comments

Many Anfield regulars really felt as though this was going to be the season where Liverpool could be serious title contenders. However, after a 1-1 draw with Manchester City, surely it’s time to give up the ghost and accept that the Red Devils are likely to equal Pool’s eighteen league titles. Heurelho Gomes: In or Out at Tottenham?

by Delius on February 20th, 2009 13 comments

He may have faked a bit of consiousness but it’s hard to really blame Gomes for conceding Spurs’ first against Shaktar when the entire defense went AWOL. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Blackburn striker hints at their gameplan against Manchester United: It might not be pretty!

by stresster on February 20th, 2009 2 comments

It’s amazing to think that Newcastle United managed a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in the first game of the season. Since then, the champions have won every single league match in front of their own fans, although this Blackburn player reckons his team have a ‘big chance’ of getting something from the match if they can frustrate their high-flying opponents. Why is this Liverpool ACE being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid?

by offsidetrap on February 20th, 2009 6 comments

You have to love parents and the way they show love for their kids. Even though they have the best of intentions at heart, they occasionally end up doing things that leave you scratching your head and saying: “ummmm, thanks?” This would be one of those times where a certain Liverpool player probably wishes his dad would stay out of the way. He’s linking him with a move back home! [Read the rest of this entry »]

Manchester United manager relegates ‘cocky midfielder’ to the reserves

by stresster on February 20th, 2009 7 comments

Sir Alex Ferguson must have been delighted by his team’s comfortable 4-1 win over Derby County last Sunday, although there was apparently one element of the stroll in the park that he didn’t like one bit! [Read the rest of this entry »]

‘If you thought Thursday night’s team was weak, you ain’t see nothing yet’ claims Tottenham manager

by stresster on February 20th, 2009 3 comments

Poor old Harry Redknapp. He has a massive squad of players, yet had to field a bunch of youngsters against Shakhtar Donetsk due to fixture congestion of the highest order. It looked like a youthful Spurs team were going to hold on for at least a goalless draw in the Ukraine, before the home side struck with two late goals. [Read the rest of this entry »]

What will THIS PLAYER do on his Arsenal debut?

by stresster on February 20th, 2009 no comments

You have to be gutted for Eduardo, who marked his Arsenal comeback with two goals and a hamstring strain, the latter of which means he misses the Sunderland match on Saturday. However, Arsene Wenger will be giving a certain someone their Gunners debut, can he do an equally good job of lifting his new club? [Read the rest of this entry »]

No love lost between Scolari and this Chelsea striker: The latter blamed for Manchester United defeat!

by stresster on February 20th, 2009 2 comments

Since Phil Scolari was axed as manager of the Blues, there have been all sorts of rumours about dressing room unrest, with certain players allegedly having a ‘hotline’ to the man upstairs (Roman Abramovich rather than God), thus helping to oust the Brazilian from his post recently. It seems that there might be some truth in these rumours, especially with this forward clearly happy to see the back of the former Portugal coach. [Read the rest of this entry »]

‘Chelsea lack belief without Mourinho’ claims Aston Villa midfielder: Do you agree?

by stresster on February 20th, 2009 1 comment

The Premier League match of the weekend undoubtedly takes place at Villa Park this Saturday, with Guus Hiddink presiding over his first match since taking temporary / permanent charge of Chelsea. It’s a pretty tricky opener for the Dutchman, with one of the Villa players claiming that the current Blues team are a shadow of the side that Jose Mourinho used to manage. How many points will Chelsea finish behind Manchester United? Higher or lower than ten?

by stresster on February 20th, 2009 3 comments

While Roman Abramovich, Guus Hiddink and the below ‘troublemaker’ refuse to concede defeat in the Premier League title race, it’s actually becoming an amusing joke to think that Chelsea can finish ahead of Manchester United this season. Ultimately, it requires the Red Devils to not only lose the odd game, but to have a blip of epic proportions, not to mention the Stamford Bridge lot needing lots of wins. by offsidetrap on February 19th, 2009 28 comments

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres needs a strike partner to back him up on the pitch. That much we know is true. Whilst Torres can usually do it alone, the rest of the season is bound to be grueling for the Anfield outfit that are still chasing the Champions League and Premier League titles. What they need someone to step up and take the job, and thankfully one player is ready and willing to do it. But is he really ready for this role? [Read the rest of this entry »]

Does this Manchester United STRIKER still have a future at the club?

by offsidetrap on February 19th, 2009 2 comments

Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United’s ownership are making it very clear at the moment where this striker stands on the list of players that deserve a new contract. Whilst they would like him to stay around, the club is making it very clear that they won’t make anything final until June. Can he wait that long? [Read the rest of this entry »]
