Does this Tottenham striker have a future at White Hart Lane?

by stresster on February 17th, 2009 4 comments

We wonder whether Harry Redknapp will describe his attacking options as being ‘down to the bare bones’ when his Tottenham team line up against Shakhtar on Thursday night. Spurs have been drawn against a team who performed pretty well in the Champions League earlier in the season, and will have to try and qualify without their best three strikers. Manchester United are UNTOUCHABLE at the moment, claims Arsenal’s manager: Is he right?

by offsidetrap on February 17th, 2009 3 comments

It’s not every day that you get high praise like this from a manager that once had his own unbeatable squad. Arsene Wenger knows what it’s like to be untouchable. His 2003-04 squad was able to accomplish the feat and go 38 games unbeaten during the year. It’s something managers only dream of; but for some reason Wenger believes Sir Alex’s current squad has the same moxy. He thinks they could be the new untouchables. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Manchester City prepared to OFFER much-improved MIDFIELDER a worthy contract

by offsidetrap on February 17th, 2009 2 comments

Nobody would have expected this midfielder to get a new contract with double the wages a year ago. But after working hard during the summer and proving himself so far this season, Manchester City are set to work on a deal to keep this key midfield cog at the club. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Former Arsenal midfielder is probably wishing that he would have stayed at the Emirates: He’s now the butt of all jokes!

by offsidetrap on February 17th, 2009 10 comments

This former Arsenal midfielder is getting exactly what he deserves at his new club. After spurning Arsene Wenger and the London club last summer for greener pastures, he’s now wishing he would have been a bit more kind to those around him. What comes around, goes around! Are Manchester City RUINING the game of football? One manager thinks so!

by offsidetrap on February 17th, 2009 3 comments

Money can buy you anything you want, but there’s one thing it can’t buy, and that’s friends. Ok, well maybe it can buy friends, but it surely won’t buy you respect from your football peers. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Dirk Kuyt: Good or bad for Liverpool?

by Delius on February 17th, 2009 22 comments

He may keep some awake at night, but Dirk Kuyt is a favourite of ol’ Rafa Benitez.

Works hard, chips in every now and then with goals, and is the consummate team player. Best of all, he’s wiling to play up front, on the right, or probably in goal should Benitez decide to muck about more than usual. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Liverpool are SCARED of us, claims Dutch MIDFIELDER: Rafa will use this as fuel for the fire!

by offsidetrap on February 17th, 2009 9 comments

If there’s one thing teams should have learned by now, it would be the simple fact that you don’t mess with Liverpool in the Champions League. Whatever you do, don’t give Rafa Benitez the ammo he needs to steamroll your football club on any given night.

Unlike Liverpool’s record in the league, their ability to rise to the occasion on the biggest football stage of all has been well documented. You’d think every player would have gotten that memo by now — but apparently there’s still one out there that’s been living under a rock. [Read the rest of this entry »]

“We have to beat Aston Villa to stay in title race” claims Chelsea player: Will they do it?

by stresster on February 17th, 2009 no comments

Considering some of Chelsea’s poor recent performances home and away, it’s easy to forget that the Blues came out of the traps flying at the start of the season. Indeed, they were particularly strong on their travels, winning eight consecutive matches on the road before starting to stutter in early December. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Will THIS Manchester United star play his last game for the club in May?

by stresster on February 17th, 2009 2 comments

All good things must come to an end, and it appears as though one of the best players in the Manchester United squad is set to leave in the summer. Nevertheless, Sir Alex Ferguson will be confident that his team can cope without this world-class talent, especially as he’s failed to reach the heady heights of last season. Manchester City continue pursuit of Chelsea player: This would be a MAJOR COUP!

by stresster on February 17th, 2009 3 comments

If at first you don’t succeed, try try and try again. That appears to be the motto of the Abu Dhabi United Group, who continue to try building a team full of world-class players. OK, so they might have failed in their attempt to sign Kaka from Milan, although they are after this proven international from Chelsea and a simple no will not deter them from getting their man. Have Manchester City players stopped listening to their manager?

by stresster on February 17th, 2009 1 comment

It doesn’t bode very well if you’re a Premier League manager with a gameplan for the weekend’s match, only to see your team fail to follow the said instructions and lose in miserable fashion yet again. Is this latest revelation further evidence that Mark Hughes is living on borrowed time? [Read the rest of this entry »]

Liverpool fans play a blinder to hoax Manchester United supporter: Cruel or deserved?

by stresster on February 17th, 2009 8 comments

There’s no love lost when it comes to the rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool, with the Red Devils on the verge of drawing level with the latter’s record of eighteen league titles. However, it appears that the Merseyside club’s supporters had the upper hand recently, causing one of their opposite numbers to travel the length of the country for a date with someone that didn’t exist. Portsmouth consider the idea of bringing on their own Guus Hiddink

by offsidetrap on February 17th, 2009 1 comment

Guus Hiddink’s decision to manage Chelsea and Russia at the same time has come under intense scrutiny of late. But even with the risk of employing a manager that has to split his time between two teams, it appears it won’t deter Portsmouth from trying to do the exact same thing. Arsenal’s Eduardo AMAZES in his first start of the season: What do supporters make of his performance?

by offsidetrap on February 16th, 2009 9 comments

It’s been a long time coming, but finally, after a year, Eduardo returned to the pitch in spectacular fashion against Cardiff in Arsenal’s FA Cup replay on Monday. After suffering a horrific ankle injury last season, the Brazilian-born striker made up for lost time with two goals in his first match for the London club. [Read the rest of this entry »]
