Currently tied atop the SPL with 60 points, Celtic are once again enjoying a great season thanks to one man in particular: Shunsuke Nakamura. The Japanese ace registered a hat-trick in Celtic’s 7-0 victory over St. Mirren to bolster his goal tally this season to 23. But could the days of seeing Nakamura plowing down the Celtic Park pitch be numbered?
Nakamura is believed to be considering a return to Japan but he hinted it was possible he could remain in Scotland.
“Maybe I will stay here, maybe I will move to another league or maybe I will go back to Japan,” Nakamura told the Daily Record. “No one knows – I don’t know.
“However, I want to concentrate only on Celtic for the moment. I am only interested in winning the title for the fourth season in a row.
“That is more important to me than my future. I don’t know if I am going to stay.
“I could have left in January but the situation changed and you never know what can happen at the end of the season. (AFP)
Nakamura has been a legend at Celtic since he first arrived. He’s accomplished almost everything at Celtic and from the looks of it could be headed for an exit back home to Japan. Manager Gordon Strachan has already made it clear that he’d like Nakamura to stay past this season, but so far things have been fairly quiet.
