Manchester City are back in the news for all the WRONG REASONS: Is this a sign of things to come?
by offsidetrap on March 6th, 2009 11 commentsManchester City back in the transfer race for another amazing football talent?! Whilst that might be hard to comprehend (does Kaka ring a bell), this bit of news shows just how far people will go to get a story.
Manchester City have come out and denied the rumours in The Sun that they were chasing Lionel Messi with £100m in hand. I can hardly believe the story isn’t true!
City said in a statement: ‘Following an article in The Sun newspaper which claimed that Manchester City are preparing a £100m bid for Lionel Messi, the club would like to make the following information clear. The story is untrue and this fact has been accepted by the newspaper in question.
‘General comments about Lionel Messi, made by Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim, who holds no position at the club, were mistakenly linked to Manchester City.
‘The article was printed in error and an apology to His Highness Sheikh Mansour, chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak and Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim and a correction in Saturday’s edition of the newspaper will follow.’ (Daily Mail)
Another rumour linking a big name with City. I have a strong feeling that we’ll be seeing this sort of thing all summer long. With copious amounts of cash come big, big whoppers. This appears to be one of them.

lol man city trying to get messi lmao that will never happen even if the club accepted a bid. this guy is the next maradona he after world player of the eyar and champions league.
what man city need to do is buy the experienced has beens like ronaldinho seedord cannavaro who will move for money in there latened career. Also get a manager of top 4 material than can at least attract players maybe rijkaard or possibly zico. then once they break in champions league they can get good quality players like ribery, diego etc then once they cement themselves in champions league like chelsea have can they think about world class players like messi and kaka.
the future looks really good for city but these things take time they wont happen in 1 season. but firstly they need above all a top 4 manager before they can get the likes of messi.

Instead of insinuating in your headline that City are responsible for some percieved wrongdoing, why cant you come out lay the blame at the door of those responsible? The fact of the matter is The Sun is and always has been a pile of shit and its readership is made up of boderline retards who gobble up whatever fucking nonsense this Idiot rag decides to dish up as gospel. I wonder how many millions their readership would fall off by if the tits were removed from its pages. If a nation can be gauged by the circulation of the type of newspapers it reads, than we are in a pathetically sorry fucking state and I for one am sick of being tarred with the same Mong brush as these cunts.

What’s even more funny is people like ASH who actually believe what they
read on this site, hilarious.

Read the article Ash. City are not after Messi, yet.

As soon as a player is mentioned for sale Manchester City is linked to him, ask yourselves why? If Messi or whoever was my player then it make good financial sense to link Man City to him to lift the value. If the media was to stop publishing this nonsense then the problem would be nowhere near as bad as it is.

City will sign either Villa or David Silva. Mark my words!!!!
Valencia are absolutly cash strapped & City are the only one’s willing pay the overinflated fee’s Valencia will ask for!! Say £100 million Villa & £80 million Silva. Anyway moneys no concern to us!!!
City need time with Hughes. He’ll come good eventually. What he needs is a talisman & needs to beat the attitude out of some players e.g. robinho (who he did not sign, the club signed!!), Richards, Elano, Johnson, Dunne (Worst defender in the Prem by a mile!!!). These guys are a joke full stop & don’t help team morale in the slightest. Look at Bellamy. His attitude since he came has been exemplary on & off the pitch. City need more grafters & team players like this guy.

Blah blah blah, heard it all before.
That Al Fahim guy just said that he liked watching Messi… And he has no say over what goes on at City. Sheikh Mansour is the main man, and he’s more clued up.
Can you just piss off with all your stories of utter nonsense?!
