Losing 7-1 can go a long way to securing the fate of a potential transfer target!
Arsenal Football Club are favourites to sign Miguel Veloso.
The Portugal international is currently plying his trade with Sporting Lisbon, who were trounced 12-1 on aggregate by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
Arsene Wenger is said to be a big admirer of the 22-year-old, who is rated at £10million and admits he would welcome a transfer in the summer.
“I have already said this – I would leave, but it is not just my decision,” said Veloso. “If it is a good thing for both Sporting and me, that is even better.” (fansfc.com)
Veloso has become possibly the most frequently mentioned player when it comes to players potentially moving to the Emirates and after last night’s humilation at the Allianz Arena he may well have had enough of life at Sporting Lisbon and add to the mix the very real possiblity that the Portuguese club fails to qualify for the Champions League next term (currently they sit in third place, outside the qualification places) and you could have a very unhappy player to deal with. Arsenal probably need a midfield battler, even though Alexandre Song has got better in recent weeks, but i feel the valuation of this source is probably less than the player’s side would take, after all they were asking for over £20m in the summer. Do Gunners fans rate Miguel or would they prefer Yaya or should they keep with what they have? Bolton and Everton are also said to be keen.
