It’s been a while since Everton has the audacity to intrude on the private party being held by the usual suspects and it was all to brief (David Moyes side failed to negotiate the Champions League qualifiers) but the Toffees proved then that it can be done and it is possible for other sides to dine at the top table but who will be next to sample the delightful dishes that await, okay enough of that analogy.
Aston Villa held firm for a good few months but they seem to be in a middle of a blip and dare I say they appear to be about to choke and lose the race to fourth place against the Gunners. This of course has a lot to do with the relatively small squad on offer to Martin O’Neill which is of course a direct result of the fact they do not have the huge sums to spend on new players as the teams they are trying to catch up with.
