Rafa’s been given some cash and by god he means to spend it!
According to a report in the British tabloid The Sunday Mirror, Liverpool are preparing to launch a triple end-of-season offer for Aston Villa’s Gareth Barry, and Valencia duo David Villa and David Silva.
Apparently, the Reds’ American owners are ready to back their manager Rafa Benitez with €106.3 million (£100m) in order to land the transfer targets.
It is also claimed that should the Spaniard decide to cash-in on any of his squad members at Anfield, he will be allowed to invest those funds in new acquisitions.
It is thought that Benitez has also identified Wigan Athletic’s right-sided winger Antonio Valencia, although recent speculation has linked the Ecuador international with a move to Manchester United. (goal.com)
Things can’t get much better for the red half of Merseyside. Another big win to add to the fantastic routs of Man United and Real Madrid and now according to paper speculation, Rafa is about to be given a load of cash to invest in new talent in the summer! This report suggests that the club will go for a big move at the Mestalla to try to bring in great talents Villa and Silva, that would be tough going. David Villa has already stated he has no desire to leave Spain so that might put a damper on things. Gareth Barry persists in being linked with a move to Anfield, a move that makes little sense to me. Antonio Valencia is a good player but not in my view a player good enough for a club looking to challenge on all fronts. Do Liverpool fans think that any of these deals will become a reality?
