Liverpool ready to make INCREDIBLE £16m SUPERSTAR bid: Very exciting talent!
by Mr Comfort on March 23rd, 2009 10 commentsBenitez looks to snare a big star this summer!
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is ready to take a gamble on Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben.
The Daily Star Sunday says Benitez is planning a £20million bid for Real Madrid’s former Chelsea winger.
Robben has been outstanding for Real this season – when fit – and there remains doubts over his ability to stand up to rigours of top-flight football. (tribalfootball.com)
Now this is big news, if indeed there is any truth to it, and it happens to coincide with a good run of form from the Dutchman. Many seem to believe that Rafa is looking for some more natural width down the flanks and Arjen is a fantastic player on his day, even though he does of course have a tendency to fall to the floor at the merest hint of a tackle. Valuations on the winger seem to fluctuate between £14-20m and at 25 Robben still has a lot to offer. Do Liverpool fans think such a move is a good idea?

Not sure he would be able to fit in. I would prefer a flying right winger who is strong. Robben is tricky b ut at times is feable. Maybe good if we could get him for £10m. Any more you go for Silva

gets injured way to often and he is mostly left footed so defenders know he is going to cut inside every time like he did against us for real that said he is a fantastic player and the type we have been missing for years 14 mills not bad but any more and i’d go for silva. ynwa

No not good. We need a natural right winger with lots of pace, cuts in on the right and one who is strong. Not to mention – score goals too !!!!!
We also need another good right back to complete that flank..
Degen does not cut it at the moment, and talks are doing the round of Arbeloa
moving back to Spain – Atletico Madrid

as a winger and on his day I think there isn’t much better in the world. He flies down the wing with the ball stuck to his foot and always gets a shot in. He could be the difference in any team. Would I want him at Liverpool? No. He’s a knob. He was disliked at Chelsea and they like all sorts of twats down there and he is always getting up the Madrid fans’ nose with his bland brand of keeping the ball until he scores. You could have all the talent in the world but if your a special gutherslap then you can go fuck yourself.

Agree with Rush. Robben is a great individual but could be better a team player. I think Liverpool is stronger without him. Silva over him…any day, any time!

he is too selfish a player and will spoil the torres-SG axis. He is good as an individual and a winger. It’s true he falls too easily onto the ground. We need strong team players, not individual flair for himself.

Kuyt is better than him any day. Sure, Kuyt lack the skills Robben has but when it comes to sacrificing for the team and playing his heart out for the others, Robben is no where near Kuyt.

This is very unlikely but I would actually be happy with Robben.
