Manchester United fans: Is Ronaldo’s behaviour out of order or is he unfairly treated?
by Mr Comfort on March 24th, 2009 187 words | 6 commentsHas Cristiano had enough?
Clearly, Ronaldo has not helped himself over the years. He has a petulant streak that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger describes as ‘provocative’, with the ability to antagonise referees as much as he does opponents.
It is the histrionics he employs in tandem with making history. The look to the heavens, the slapping of the hips and the stamping of the feet, and then the laugh.
The laugh that says he thinks the referee is a joke. The laugh that probably makes the referee want to thump him, or at the very least mock in response at the first available
opportunity. (Daily Mail)
Yes it’s true that Cristiano is the victim of more than his fair share of late challenges and violent lunges but is he also partly to blame for the seeming lack of protection from referee’s? To all Man United fans out there, if your honest do you think that Ronaldo needs to stop being a baby or is he simply at breaking point because of the abuse and aggression directed at him?

his behaviour is out of order. not only does he get away with backchatting to referees. the little kick outs he makes at players if they tackle him. whether fairly or unfairly. are a joke. he gets away with what he does too much. therefore any decisions that don’t go his way. whether correctly or incorrectly. are justified. he gets what he deserves. and he doesn’t do anything to help his cause.
furthermore. the quality of his play over the last few weeks. esp against. liverpool & fulham has been terrible. gives away possesion way too easily. it would probably be good for him and man utd sat him on the bench to start against villa. give nani a go out there. might knock some sense to him. but i don’t think ferguson has the balls to.

50/50… He did earn it, but referes are there to protect players, not just certain players. This won’t end until the guy ends up with a leg broken in 4 different places. And the laugh bit is just stupid.

Its a difficult one really.
On the one hand,he definately brings it on himself.
he is very arrogant and spends alot of the times especially recently whining and complaining thus leaving the back four with players pouring forward because he´s on his arse complaining-after in some cases diving.
but on the other hand he doesn´t get the full protection from ref´s because some ref´s see the player and not the foul so assume that “well its ronaldo,he´s dived”and players get away with making crude challenges.
give him credit he still comes back for more.
However I would say that he should be dropped to the bench -like beckham was-aswell as also being told that there are other free-kick takers at the club.
also as a footnote is this all just a smoke screen for him to leave!

Since day one when he shot to fame, Ronaldo has always shown himself to be what he is – a petulant, spoilt, self absorbed prick. Abilities wise as a player, he is incredible (though selfish at times). As a person, I think he’s got a kinder mentality who is still learning to play with others and that the world is much bigger than him.

If he leaves, I think that’s great. Man Utd can use the money to buy better team players such as Ribery. He may get less public profile compared to Ronaldo but i seriously think Ribery would be far more effective than Ronaldo.
If Real Madrid want him to badly for 60-80 million and he wants so badly to go, I say let him. He will rot there with the other galaticos winning nothing every year and get thrash again by Liverpool at the CL.
