Arsenal VERY INTERESTED in £9m CONSISTENT Premier League performer!
by Mr Comfort on March 26th, 2009 14 commentsArsene Wenger is apparently a big fan.
Everton are ready to break the bank to keep Joseph Yobo away from Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Mirror says Yobo is to be offered a new £6million contract.
The Nigerian has just over a year left on his current deal, and the Goodison club will open talks to ensure they do not lose him for a reduced fee.
Yobo has indicated he wants to stay, despite interest from Arsenal and Chelsea. (tribalfootball.com)
Arsenal could well do with another centre back in their squad, and although no doubt Phillipe Senderos will be returning to the club in the summer Arsene Wenger may well feel he needs a good defender and not an average one. Gallas and Toure are the best pairing at the club but there have been doubts about William’s future and he could well leave in the summer. Kolo has been better of late and there had been some talk of a potential swoop for Newcastle United’s Bassong but perhaps a move for Yobo would be a better bet? The Nigerian has been a very consistent performer since arriving at Goodison Park almost six years ago and he may well choose to look for a challenge elsewhere if Everton don’t hurry up and make him an offer he can’t refuse. Who do Arsenal fans think make up the best pairing at the club and would Joseph Yobo be a decent addition to the Emirates squad?

I would prefer Jagielka (is it spelt like that?) He’s been a consistantly good performer this season plus very versatile.

yeah but there is absolutely no chance, none at all of arsenal getting jags. youre not even getting yobo, although offer us 12mil and hes yours

Bassong in my opinion would be the better option, as hes young, sexy, good looking, great legs and cheap.. if his performances during his first season in the prem is anything to go by would be a steal if I ever did see one, I’d even go as far as to say if Newcastle where to go down would allow Arsenal to get him for 2-3million pennies (not so much as an “if” more a “when” they go down)

There are reports that Bassong deal has been finalized already and he will be replacing Gallas, with the latter off to Marseille.

I think this just demonstrates how far Everton have come under Moyes. When our 3rd choice centre-half would be starting for 2 of the “big 4″.

I say bring Mr Arsenal (TA) out of retirement & give him the position alongside Toure.
Then bring back the goal machine JJ (John Jensen) & that will sort out the defensive midfield situation.
Then sell Adebayor for £35m & buy back franny “The Fanny” Jeffers for under a mill then we will win the Octuplet next seasson.
Also we could give Rami Shaaban a call & see if he fancies a game in between the sticks.

How sad is it that, even if Kelvin Keegan was gay, some people seem to have a problem with it
Are we not in the 21st century or are some people’s egos so small they have to defend their sexuality?
(I think we all know the answer to that & anyways, i didn’t think there were any females on the interweb!)
back to topic, Yobo would be amazing, on current & past few years form hep’s been way more consistent that Richards, & scored more than Gallas’ penis
bring him on if the price is right
