Spurs set for INCREDIBLE £14m STRIKER bid: I didn’t see this one coming!
by Mr Comfort on March 26th, 2009 241 words | 9 commentsWest London rivals could make a move for Tottenham man.
Guus Hiddink is keen for Chelsea to bid for Tottenham flop Roman Pavlyuchenko.
Blues boss Hiddink has told owner Roman Abramovich he knows how to get the best out of the forward.
The £14million Russian striker has struggled to justify his price tag since arriving at White Hart Lane from Spartak Moscow.
Pavlyuchenko, 27, has a decent scoring ratio of 13 goals in 30 games – but he does not not fit into Harry Redknapp’s long-term plans.
And Chelsea caretaker Hiddink insists there is a bargain to be had. (Daily Mirror)
Well this is a bit of a surprise. Clearly Guus knows Pavlyuchenko very well but would Chelsea make a move for the Tottenham man and perhaps more importantly would Harry entertain the notion of selling the Russian forward? Well let’s look at that. It seems clear that Roman isn’t going to be a first choice starter at White Hart Lane and Harry does look like wanting to shape the squad into a bunch that he himself has brought in. The former Spartak man is a good player who always gives his all and is liked by the fans for that reason, however he hasn’t shown nearly enough in Premier League matches to show that the investment in the Euro 2008 star was a good one. Do Spurs fans want the club to keep Pavy?

I reckon Harry should hang on to Roman, he has bags of ability he just needs a run in the team.

i dont think its fair to blame pavlyuchenko for his indifferent form.he was signed directly after playing over 20 games in russian league.let him have his summer break then see what he can do.

I reckon keeping Pav would be harry’s best option and feel when we get defoe back and play modric keano and lennon behind them we’ll reap the rewards and he’ll be a class act

Pavy is a great player.Spurs would be crazy to sell him.All Spur’s forwards are small,he is the only one of decent size.I am suprised he does not play every game.

pav has a superb attitude towards spurs and is a natural poacher so harry would be seriously wrong to let the guy go

THIS IS A NONE STARTER AND HARRY SHOULDENT JUDGE ANY PLAYER FROM A LOSING SIDE ITS EASY TO PERFORM IN A WINNING TEAM THAN A TEAM STUGGLING WITH ENERGY TEAMS AT THE BOTTEM OF THE PREM WE HAVE A GREAT SQUAD AND NO PLAYER SHOULD BE SOLD OUR YOUNGSTERS WILL COME OF AGE NEXT YEAR AND THE REST OF THE SEASON HUDDS BENTLEY OHARA DOSANTOS TAARABT SHOULD BE KEPT AND THE ONLY PLAYERS THAT SHOULD GO ARE SILVER ROCHA CAMBPELL BOTENG AND CHIMBONDA IF HE WANTS TO LEAVE OR HE COULD BECOME A SPECIAL MEMBER OF A GREAT SQUAD .IF HARRY DOESENT COMMITT US TO ANOTHER SEASON OF REVOLVING DOOR .

“Blues boss Hiddink has told owner Roman Abramovich he knows how to get the best out of the forward”
This paragraph proves this to be a total non-starter.
How is Hiddink going to get the best out of Pav next season when he continually states he is leaving Chelski in the summer.
Utter rubbish article.
