Agent’s, don’t you just love em’!
Luring Luka Modric away from Tottenham will be tough for Italian teams, according to his agent.
Sabatino Durante, who represents the Croatian midfielder in Italy, is aware of Juventus’ interest in Modric, with The Old Lady looking for a replacement for the retiring Pavel Nedved.
But he has stated that Serie A teams, except from Inter, do not have the means to spend £23 million on the Premier League star.
The representative was then asked if the Croatian would be a hit if he was to move to Juve.
He added: “I have been saying that Modric is one of the best midfielders in Europe for the last two, three years because he is a good mix of quality and quantity. And he’s a young player as well.
“He has huge room for progress and can play in a two-midfielder system or like [Pavel] Nedved. In a few words he can do anything. And he is attracted by the goal.
“Tottenham can’t deprive themselves from having such a player, who had been approached by Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea before his move to White Hart Lane.
“He opted to join the London team in order to grow within a team that are not in the first tier and that would be playing around him.
“For sure [moving to Italy in the summer is an option] but it will depend on the state of the economy. Modric can’t move on from London for less than €24 or €25 million [£22 or 23 million].Setanta)
You have to love agents don’t you! Even though in one breath they say their player has a future at a club he then points out that a move is an option. He then likens the player in question to another player who just happens to be about to retire and therefore links him to the team who would best need him! Modric is a class act and for sure Harry won’t want to lose him, i would imagine the best way to avoid him moving to Italy is to get the Croat to sack his Italian representative who will of course be looking to move his client to that very country! How do Spurs fans think Modric has faired in his first season in the Premier League?

Zenit St Petersburg are targeting Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
The 26-year-old Poland international has made just 18 League appearances in three seasons at Old Trafford.
Zenit are preparing a £4m bid as they are unsure about current first-team keeper Vyacheslav Malafeev. (tribalfootball.com)
Sir Alex Ferguson is a little spoilt for choice just now when it comes to players to stick between the posts. Ben Foster looks pretty decent and could well take the mantle from Edwin Van der Sar when he hangs up his gloves and by all accounts young Ben Amos is good prospect and then there is German teenager Ron-Robert Zieler to add to the mi which leaves Kuszcak as the weak link as at 26 he would be looking for regular first team football. He is a pretty decent goalie and a move to Zenit may be right up his street and i am sure Fergie will not stand in his way. Do Man United fans think Foster is good enough to take over from Edwin in a season or two?
Good to see someone taking defeat on the chin and offering praise for their arch-rivals!

There are a lot of utterly pointless club-branded products your team probably tries to get you to buy every day, but now there’s actually something that’s useful.
The lads behind Arseroo.com have built an incredible search engine just for Arsenal fans.
In addition to the traditional Google web search there is a tab you can click to switch to a unique football search that only scans websites relevant to football and Arsenal in particular. So it’s a cinch to find the football stuff you were actually looking for.
The design is clean and crisp, and we love the dynamic Flickr photo stream at the top that loads photos taken by fans themselves. Kudos to their team as the whole design really just ‘feels’ Arsenal.
So give Arseroo a whirl and we recommend setting it as your homepage or bookmarking it so you can start your day properly with Arsenal and quickly find what you are really looking for.
