The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect!
Former Arsenal, Leeds United and current Liverpool right winger Jermaine Pennant has clinched a Bosman transfer to Spanish club Valencia this summer according to reports in the Spanish press.
Pennant, currently on loan at Portsmouth was keen to stay at Anfield, but sources suggest Rafa Benitez has been told to cut the wage budget at Anfield, if he wants to sign his transfer targets this summer.
The wideman was linked with a shock move to Real Madrid in the January transfer window but the deal fell through after Pennant decided he wanted to fight for his place at Anfield.

There are those who believe Jermaine Pennant wasn’t given enough time to prove himself and that he is a player with talent that far outweighs off field antics and bouts of poor form. Those people are quite simply completely wrong. Mr. Pennant is a perennial underachiever and was at his best when at unfashionable Birmingham and went a long way to prove that he would thrive as a big fish in a smaller pond, a move to Valencia will backfire, if indeed this is a done deal, and he would be better off trying to secure himself a move to Portsmouth where he could well get back to his best.
At Liverpool he would have a decent spell of good form and then undo his work with some lazy showings where he would at times vanish from the game completely. He will not be missed.
Pennant to Valencia: Apparently all sewn up but could perhaps fall through at the last moment when he asked for a bit to much in the way of wages.
