Liverpool set to sign ‘Fabregas Mk II” as Youngster Arrives for Talks
by Steven Constable on May 15th, 2009 310 words | 25 commentsThe all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect!
The Rumour
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is ready to beat Barcelona to the signing of Spanish teenage sensation Jesus Fernandez – nicknamed Suso.
Benitez’s spies have been to see the Cadiz youngster, an attacking midfielder in the Cesc Fabregas mould, and he hopes his Spanish connections will help him win the race.
Suso has been offered a deal at Barca but his advisors think he could get lost in their ’system’ while Benitez has big plans to bring in top young talent at Anfield after a recent reshuffle.
Suso is expected to come to Liverpool for talks, possibly as early as next week, with Cadiz resigned to losing their best prospect in years.
The Source: (Daily Mirror)
The Analysis
Rafa has in the past two years or so put an added emphasis on the clubs youth policy. This has led to an improvement in the club’s academy output and has signaled a marked increase in the number foreign youngsters being brought into the club to complete their footballing education.
Suso is a wanted man and his Cadiz side, playing in the third tier of Spanish football, are clearly resigned to losing the talented teenager and the youngster may be very wise to opt against a move to Barcelona where the likes of Giovani find it next to impossible to make it through to the first team and end up leaving sooner or later.
Whether Jesus Fernandez is the next Fabregas is obviously very hard to say and such comparisons can become something of an Albatross around a player’s shoulders but he will surely find it hard to resist a move to Anfield to play alongside his Spanish International heroes.
The Likelihood
Suso to Liverpool: The buzz on the web suggests this is almost a certainty.

Don’t know a thing about him, at 18 though maybe he is a replacement for an out-bound Lucas??
mark - May 15th, 2009 at 10:58 am
hopefully7 he is a replacement for Lucas, thanks to some of his terrible performances this season,we wont be winnng the league..gave the peno away against wigan…lost us 2 pionts and missed an open goal away to stoke ,another 2 pionts gone and his passing was just outrageous..just kept giving away the ball…get him out now …
Donavan Ried - May 15th, 2009 at 12:02 pm
Keep saying this “We need players for the now”…………. The longer we go on without winning anything is the hard time we will have trying to attacted world class players. Get your finger out Rafa and make a class signing this summer. Forlan just is not a big enough signing for us…… With a Terrier like Tevez up front chasing the ball down, helping take pressure off the back four, making chances, scoring goals can not see why we will not win the league, or Champions League. Or Kun Agüero Think he will need to play regular and need a season to come into his own……. Still need to ditch Lucas, and afew others, but have replacements already in the reserves……. and how about bringing Stephen Warnock back to Liverpool?…….. We can’t wait for the next three or four years before we are fighting it out for the top honours again. Spend wise, spend big, spend now Rafa!!

Afternoon 9torres, how’s thing’s

‘ello gents
agree (as usual) with Mr Ried. we really need players for now. look at Rafael at Man ure. most people thought he would have to wait a few years to break into the team, now he’s there first choice RB.
that’s the kind of young talent we need. i’d give insua the number 3 shirt and buy youngsters such as silva, aguero, lennon and just put them straight into the 1st team. let them express themselves and see what happens
good call on bringing warnock back. i’ve always said we should have kept him. young, english, local, dependable. won’t set the world alight, but neither did finan or arbeloa (who i dont think is good enough at this level)

Good cheers matey, hows things with you? what did you think of YNWA at the end of the match last night? think it was ruined somewhat by those kids being given the mic
Dom - May 15th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
Red… your comment is contradictory.
You say you agree with mr reid and we should buy big names, yet u say we shud do wot manure did with rafael, who wasn’t a big signing, was a youth player…
Mr reid. I think untill the trabsfer window is over you should trust rafa. We cant just buy all big names. Yes we need players for the now, but we also need a youth program for the futute..
What rafa has done for the youth at anfield is great. You have the likes of insua who is a great lb.
Spearing who is the next gerrard. Pacheco who is gna be a very gd player. Ngog who is flurishing. Nemeth who is setting the reserve on fire. Darby who is avery good right back. El zhar who apart from his poor games against middleborough has always come on and changed games. Lucas.. who is underrated. He ist crap he is just inconsistant, look at how well he did against manure!
Babel who I agree hasn’t done that well this seasonm but is still better than most.
I think rafa will buy big names this summer as he knows the importance of it, but he also gave his word to make the youth system flourish, and it is. We need both type of players.
In rafa we trust. You never know… you may be suprised
The Big I Am - May 15th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
get him if hes decent!!!!! not herd of him b4 but its never a bad time to invest in youth for the future for any club, anyone with a football head should agree and he plays for a 3rd tier spanish side its not like hes gona be pricey!!!! . . . were a rich club but not so rich as to have the luxury of just buying in world class tallent when we need it we actualy have to use the youth system thats set in place unlike chelsea and now man-city and doms right sinse rafa took charge of the youth team its doing brilliant we have a nice healthy selection of youth players and some of the best prospects for the future.
But we do need to buy in players for now aswell

Dom – May 15th, 2009 at 2:27 pm …….”Mr reid. I think untill the trabsfer window is over you should trust rafa. We cant just buy all big names. Yes we need players for the now, but we also need a youth program for the futute..”………. Thanks for the “mr” Dom and Red, Been call a lot of things in my time , a lot of them four lettered (LOL) but Mr is nice thank you……Now Dom I have nothing but respect for you, but I am sick hearing about “Rafa buying for the Future” He as been doing this since arriving at the club, and where are those players?…. P I would like us to win another Champions League, F.A Cup soon and even the big one The Premier League, Maybe next season and not four or five years down the line……… The team has not been bad this year, (remembering Man Utd And Chelsea have been poor most of the season), but there are areas we need to improve in. If Torres was to get injuried and be out for six/seven game, who have we got that can play the lone frontman?……. N’gog? Bable?Kuyt?….. Anwser. No one….. I think we can remain as we are, buy no one and still do pretty well in the Prem, Champion, F.A. and League cups if we play more attacking football. But as for winning the Premier or Champions League, No…. So even if we only buy one Class player this coming season, let it be a striker, someone like Carlos Tevez, or Kun Agüero, Even if that means blowing the whole transfer buget on the one player. It would be worth it. Remember there are player like Darby,(RB) Spearing,(CM),Insua (LB) El zhar (R/LW) players that YES, you have named, so we have cover if need be. Torres is great and all, but he can’t be expected to do everything…..
Donavan Ried - May 15th, 2009 at 7:14 pm
P.S, Sorry Dom but i am one of those who does not Trust in Rafa.
jimmycarterwingwizard - May 16th, 2009 at 8:56 am
chelsea rent boy or girl or are just a frustrated cock in a frock?
do us all a favour if your going to read our amusing, arguemnents, discussions and general chat then please start adding something that may catch the eye…if not lock yourself in your bedroom whilst mummy earns good money down the docks after nicking clothes from marks & sparks, whilst your dad feeds his over worrying crack habbit…and your confined to watching lady boy porn whilst wearing your dead grans clothing. something on these lines cockhead!
as for this youngster….errm who is he? & why are we buying him? & what no-one has actually mentioned is what sort of message does this send out to the others like spearing etc. i have mentioned before the endless reserve team full of foreign inports….which sadly is stopping the local talent thru…so why are we interested in another…& one for the future?
we need the player now & for the next four or five years we need to see rafa who i dont trust investing heavily in QUALITY players who are going to make a difference now.
a striker, right side, a right back (if not lets start moving stephen darby forward)
a left winger. these are the positions that are poor and only at times average.
as for the warnock shout….yes he was decent player and better than that twat at right back…fuck he gets me angry thinking about his smug spanish face…let me just kick the cat………maiowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
aah thats better…..but bringing him back nah there is better players out there people mention johnson….but richards at shitty is the man…this kid is fucking dynamite….& in a bigger side would kick start his career to new heights.
the left side in reira who is decent but only in patches again needs to be addressed some suggestions of silva etc….but if this english player rule maybe downing is the option ….& b4 people go JCWW are you sniffing glue….again he has got the potential to shine in a bigger club & as well as takin men on can net, can cross & does work for the ball……upfront now this is the biggy????????????????
with the formation that rafa insists on has at times served uits purpose but what people need to see is the bigger picture and that he needs to ditch the 2 sitting midfielders in games that do not require it…play the two up front put gerrard back in his midfield….because no matter what fans think he is still the most influential player even in this position….tevez now yes he is an option an ugly one tho…..fuck he looks like he worked down the mines as youngster…in fact i did hear he was visiting blackpool recently with his family and some people asked his wife how much to ride your donkey love along the beach…but hey ugly players are great….in fact rafa bring back ugly players…..apart from julian dicks!
chelsea stick your commercial flags up your tight arses and then blow a midget off.
dibbler - May 16th, 2009 at 2:33 pm
Donavan i cant agree more with your comment i think if we had another world class striker we would be in with more of a chance, as a team you cannot depend so heavily on one or two players because like you said if torres get a knock there is not enought options up front.
But if you are going to blow the budget it has to be a missive signing in the class of eto’o or aguero and i think you could add tevez to that list although i dont think he is prolific he can turn any game and create space for others by commiting defenders.
Donavan Ried - May 16th, 2009 at 3:46 pm
jimmycarterwingwizard – May 16th, 2009 at 8:56 am…… LOL… Just love reading your post…… Yeah take on board what you say about Steven Warnock. Just meant if we spend big on one player and Andrea Dossena was off back to Italy, and we needed cover Warnock would be a cheap buy…. But as you sad, there are better out there.
Fact - May 16th, 2009 at 3:51 pm
I really do think we should break the bank and try to sign Van Persie, he is pure class and can play brilliantly in either the Torres role or the Gerrard role.
Would be a class addition, what do you all think.

re donavan ried!
cheers for the complements I always try to amuse…otherwise far to much boring red chat…u know who you are?
understood what you were saying & fair point…jesus 4got about the italian rocking horse!
fact whoever you are quite a good shout there & an interesting one van persie is a class act but slightly risky & over a season doesnt produce it enough for me but hey im open to debate.
as for the last several hours well the manure have finally caught up with us…& hats off to them…but again this year more than ever there is tinge of resentment and huge frustration in the chance we have had to finally put our hands on that trophy.
it appears when we were top most times we were shite & then after giving them a lifeline and a bite at the top of the cherry…their experience & belief that is at times commendable pushes them past us etc. whilst we then shackles off because we are chasing in that underdog role that i believe Rafa enjoys more shows the way forward in going for the jugglar early etc.
for next season rafa instead of voicing his spleen at all things whisky nose he maybe needs to draw his spanish breath & realise that 11 draws is not good enough & before all the rafa we trust brigade go oh JCWW we lost 2 games highest scores & kuyt is handsome some of those home games have cost us dearly…manure on the other hand do not do draws…& that is why those spotty glue-sniffing from a place outside of manchester (check your maps) are celebrating!
turning draws into wins & risking 3 points instead of the crap 1 could be the difference…in acheiving this the summers transfer activity is surely going to be interesting……
david looks like I was left on a hot stove beauty contest burrows raving looney party candidate for leamington spa!
hitler was a lady boy!
Irish scouser - May 16th, 2009 at 7:13 pm
y dosn’t ny1 tink agger shud start left back he’s good going foward wich most of our backs lack. richards wud b a class signing as the main reason arbeloa has started is because of small compititon and he is a gd man marker like wen he held off ronaldo and his first game in 2006 against barca wen he marked messi but recently against lower teams he switchs off every now and then i av seen a couple of goals goin in from his mistakes this year
A strong winger is wat i tink we shud be goin 4 not another garcia (who was good but was average most of the time and lackin strength) lucas has 2 go aswell wud love 2 c aguero or tevez YNWA
