The Rumour
ROY HODGSON is confident that £6million rated Wigan star Paul Scharner will be his first Fulham summer signing.
The Austrian international was close to joining the Cottagers last season but opted to sign a contract extension at the JJB Stadium.
Fulham boss Hodgson believes he will get his man now despite interest from Newcastle and a clutch of German clubs.

The Analysis
Roy Hodgson deserves a hell of a lot of respect and admiration for the way he has turned things around at Craven Cottage. He took a Fulham side that so nearly got relegated last term and turned them into a side heading for a UEFA Cup spot.
Paul Scharner is a good player to have in your armoury as he is an adaptable and determined customer who can play equally well at the centre of defence of in a defensive midfield role. Hodgson has built his side around just that type of player and clearly the former Inter Milan boss values grit and stamina and a desire to win at all costs, therefore a move for this Wigan man seems ideal and surely the Austrian would consider a move to London and undoubtedly a more lucrative deal than he currently has at the JJB.
The Likelihood
Scharner to Fulham: This move will definitely happen.
