The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect!
England Under-21 international Joe Hart will see his contract at the City of Manchester Stadium expire in June and, despite excellent early season form, the arrival of Shay Given from Newcastle United in the January transfer window has seen his first team opportunities limited. Villa are expected to conclude a deal for around £3m, according to reports.

Joe Hart is a fantastic keeper who seems to have fallen foul to the financial re-building of his Man City side. He was happily doing a very good job for a keeper of his tender years then the club brings in arguably the best keeper in the Premier League in the shape of Shay Given and the former Shrewsbury’s run in the team comes to an abrupt, and some would say unfair, end.
Now the 22 year old has to decide whether he wants to fight it out for the number one jersey with the Irishman, something that Steve Harper had to do for near on 12 years, or whether he should try his luck elsewhere. I think Hart has to leave in order to keep his career progression moving in an upwards direction. The good thing about a potential move to Aston Villa is the fact that Brad Friedel turns 38 year tomorrow! So is therefore unlikely to hold him back for too long.
Joe Hart to Aston Villa: Very likely.
