Steve Bruce has thrashed out a £21.5million deal with Real Madrid for Antonio Valencia – but challenged Sir Alex Ferguson to match the valuation if he wants the Wigan winger.
Valencia, 23, is seen by Manchester United as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and he has been tracked by a number of suitors.

Clearly Steve Bruce is so angry about the loss of yet another player that he has decided that he will at least be well compensated for the loss of the club’s impressive Ecuadorian. Sir Alex rates the 23 year old highly and would have been impressed with the Latic’s players display when the two teams met last week but will he put in such an astronomical bid?
Man United‘s interest in the player will obviously intensify if the club does lose Cristiano Ronaldo but the fact that Real Madrid have put in a bid for Valencia might negate the need for Ferguson to pursue the Wigan man.
Valencia to Man United: Only if the merry go round spins correctly. I.e. if Ronaldo goes to Real instead then Fergie may be forced to act but may opt for Ribery first.
