The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect!
Napoli have received a major bid from Liverpool for star midfielder Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Gazzetta dello Sport says an intermediary representing Liverpool delivered an £18 million offer to Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis for the Argentine.
De Laurentiis immediately rejected the bid, but hasn’t ruled out club-to-club talks to assess how serious Liverpool are.
Meanwhile, it’s suggested Lavezzi has been tabled terms worth £3 million-a-year by Reds representatives.

Nippy Argentine Lavezzi is having a good season at the Stadio San Paolo but the figures being banded about in terms of Rafa trying to sign the 24 year old are frankly baffling to say the least. The adaptable attacker was a great success at San Lorenzo helping them to the Primera title before being sold to the Napolitan giants who of course played their part in making fellow Argie Diego Maradona a big star but for the Serie A mid table side to reportedly turn down an offer of such magnitude is shocking to say the least.
Clearly Benitez is keen to bring in a player who can pair off with Fernando Torres or at least play off him in the hole behind the striker and by all accounts Ezequiel can play just about anywhere across the attacking areas on the park including on both wings but does he really command such an inflated valuation?
Lavezzi to Liverpool: If Napoli have really turned down £18m then i don’t expect the Anfield boss to come back with another bid!
