David Silva has been linked with a move to Anfield for near on 18 months now and you would think that after all that time the Liverpool faithful would have got sick of the sight of his name but it appears that most supporters would put the young Spaniard at the top of their summer wish-list.
The Adaptable 23 year old attacker would indeed be a perfect fit at the Merseyside club as he could ably bridge the gap between the midfield and the attack in the much the same way a player like Andrei Arshavin does. What may make such a move even more likely is the fact that Valencia have missed out on a Champions League place and as well as this denting the hopes of Silva it also means that the cash strapped club will miss out on all the financial benefits that would have resulted from being involved in the biggest club competition on the planet.
The Mestalla outfit will sell this summer, that seems certain, time will tell if it will be Benitez who picks up a bargain or two from his former employers.
David Silva to Liverpool: Whether the young talented Spanish international would admit to saying so is another matter but it does seem increasingly likely that the club will need to cash in on either Silva, David Villa or David Albiol now that the club has missed out on the Champions League gravy train.
