Chelsea Boss Outlines £42m Pair as Top Priority Signings

The Rumour
CARLO ANCELOTTI wants Brazilian Alexandre Pato and ex-Chelsea defender Glen Johnson to kick-start his Blue revolution.
The new Stamford Bridge boss, confirmed as Guus Hiddink’s replacement yesterday, believes the pair could help him win the Champions League.
SunSport can reveal Ancelotti, 49, has already offered his old club AC Milan £30m for 19-year-old striker Pato.
And the new boss also gave Chelsea the nod to offer Portsmouth £12m for Johnson – ironically the first player Blues owner Roman Abramovich bought when he took over.

The Analysis
Well you can’t argue with the quality of Alexandre Pato but clearly AC Milan will battle against any of Ancelotti’s former team members leaving for Stamford Bridge so it may well cost a pretty penny to lure the young Brazlian to the Chelsea. The 19 year old has already netted 27 times in 62 matches for the San Siro side and the signs point to the teenager becoming one of the worlds best players in the coming years.
Glen Johnson didn’t get much of a look in during his previous spell at the west London club but has since rebuilt his career at Portsmouth and will think very carefully before entering the lions den again. Clearly if the right back is assured a first team spot by the new Italian boss then he would probably jump at the chance of rejoining his former teammates.
The Likelihood
Johnson and Pato to Chelsea: Who would bet against another very expensive summer for Roman Abramovich? Snaring the young Brazilian will be a tough task though.

I think Pato would be a great buy for Chelsea. He is a player they need with speed, and the clinicalness in front of goal that we hav been missing ( dispite Anelka getting golden boot) but i would not pay 30m for the 19 year old. It would be better invest in Arguero who was a proven record in Europe against the top teams.
I would like to see Guzman or Zhirkov coming too. They are young players who would inject some life into our always aging midfield ( lampard, essien, ballack, malouda all over 29).
I would not mind Paulo Ferrera going. He has served faithfully for a long time but he could gert 5m pounds which could aid another transfer!
I would aslo like to see Deco leaving but still getting back the 8m we wastd on him a year ago.
I think Ribery is overratd and ther are players JUST as good but a bit kinder to out back accounts.
Let me hear your opinin,
A Chelsea Fan

lampard and ballack are on the wrong side of 29 but essien is 26 and malouda 28 going on 29…still plenty of life in those two boys…although i’d cash in on malouda’s second half of the season…i cant see glen johnson coming back…bosingwa was one of our best this season….i think we need another left back for when ash cole is out….and someone with pace and a bit of flair in midfield

I would like to see Zhirkov coming, as he is a relatively young player who would inject pace and venom into the ageing midfeild, the Chelsea Fan before me said essien is over 29…..hmmm no he is 27…but anyway i would like to see Dzeko or Arnautovic as replacments for drogba as he is ageing plus i dont think drogba is bad but those two are younger with more hunger, drogba would raise enough money for 1 of those. so iv spend 18m on Zhirkov so i got 32 mill left that roman gave me on transfers…i would go for van der vaart and ribery for 8mil and 36mil and sell deco and ballack cuz we got mikel and belleti to make up the money

I would agree with the decision of bidding for PATO… His calibre would definitely match with the premier league. And we did lost Glen last year because of ex-manager Scolari.. And many unwanted signings.. We should make our choices carefully and should not worry in future… I would like to recommend this players to the gr8 club..
Pato
Yoan Gorcuff
Ben arfa
Rafinha
Aquafresca
Young

ballack is going nowhere as he is signing a 1 year extension….i think lamps and ballack in the mid is fine with essien…i think we need a good pair of wingers, that being said joey cole is still to come back….mikel is still developing…the difference between he and ballack is that ballack can score….mikel cannot…he tries….but he just cant

Don’t care how old Essian is – he’s amazing – just look at the difference he made when he came back from injury!
Agree with cashing in on Malouda’s second half of the season – off load to Sp#rs and watch him go back to his old self!!
I’d say we need left midfielder/ winger & left back cover for Ashley. Right back is Ok with Bosingwa but I’d love to see more English players coming in and Johnson would be as good as Bos if only he could be as consistant. don’t want Percy to go anywhere even if he is being kept out of centre back place by Alex.
Sell Deco to persuade Milan to offload Pato so we don’t have to give too much cash – not bothered by his age – look at Rooney!
My line up for Charity Shield:
Cech
Bosingwa/ Johnson
Alex
Terry
A Cole
Lamps
Obi Won in middle with Frank bearing Left, OR Zhirkov on the left
Essian
Joe Cole (don’t know when he’s back)
Pato
Anelka
Put Drog on the bench – he’s brilliant when he knows we’re not selling him and he needs to prove himself.
Kalou needs to score more to get first team
Ballack – never loved him and has started to get in the way again like his first season, despite great 95% of the 08/09 season.
Belletti is great cover for Bosingwa and anywhere down the right.

We don’t need pato. There are better players for the same price or less. I hope we have a go at getting aguero.
STARTING ELEVEN:
cech
johnson mancienne terry a.cole
lampard essien kakuta
tevez aguero zhirkov
ROTATE WITH:
malouda, stoch, mikel, anelka, j.cole, ivanovic, ballack, turnball, alex, cork, sahar
With this team no-one can complain about our age, not producing our own and our lack of english players. Plus, it’s a top quality side.
