MIKEL ARTETA and Gareth Barry are the two men at the top of Harry Redknapp’s summer wish-list.
And that means midfielder Jermaine Jenas and strikers Darren Bent and Roman Pavlyuchenko could be shown the door at Spurs.
thelondonsport understands Tottenham boss Redknapp sees Everton favourite Arteta and Barry, the Aston Villa captain, as players to help Spurs break the “big four”.

Harry Redknapp may be a little late in declaring his interest in Gareth Barry as he is already on his way to Eastlands to conclude talks apparently but a move for Mikel Arteta is an interesting one.
The Everton man has been inspirational since making the move from Real Sociedad four years ago after his return to Spain from Glasgow failed to inspire the best from the talented midfielder. Incredibly the 27 year old is still without an international cap but is clearly a player that many teams have chased in recent seasons.
With great vision, good dead ball skills and the ability to turn a game on its head with one bit of magic i can see why the Tottenham boss would want to make a move for Arteta but would Mikel leave Goodison Park for a team who doesn’t represent a step up? I feel it is far more likely he would consider a move back to La Liga before opting for such a move but after the successes of last season he seems pretty content as a Toffees hero.
Redknapp would do better to move Modric back from out on the left to alongside battler Wilson Palacios and then looking for a natural left winger.
Arteta to Tottenham: Don’t see this happening.
