This winger is running out of time to prove himself.
Liverpool’s Ryan Babel has become frustrated at his lack of first team football at Anfield and is ready to leave the club should the right move come along. Benitez reportedly told the 22-year-old he was free to leave in the summer and would accept a bid of £8m. Harry Redknapp is allegedly interested in bringing the Dutch international to White Hart Lane.

Yes a lot has been said about the long term Anfield future of the talented if flawed Dutch International but it does seem the speculation is mounting of a realistic move to White Hart Lane in the offing. The question is, would Rafa be making a mistake by letting such a deal take place?
So far in his two years at the club the Cons outweigh the Pros, hence Benitez seemingly being open to the prospect of allowing the winger to leave, not least in order to give the Liverpool boss more funds to spend this summer.
If i were the Liverpool boss I think i would give Ryan one more season to prove himself to the club and perhaps try to give the former Ajax man equal footing with Albert Riera for the coming season and see how both progress. Option two would be to loan the speed merchant out for a season.
Babel to Spurs: If Redknapp puts in a significant offer then I think deal may take place.
