Redknapp needs a player who isn’t habitually injured to steady his back line.
Ledley King’s persistent injury problems mean Redknapp may be keen to strengthen at the back. It’s been reported that Redknapp will raid his former club once more, this time for French centre back Sylvain Distin. Reports suggest the 31-year-old is unhappy on the south coast and a figure of around £4m could be enough to tempt him away.

In an ideal world Woody and Ledley would be fit every week and Harry Redknapp would therefore have a very stable back line to stick in front of Mr. Gomes however this isn’t an ideal world and as such both defenders have a history of injury problems with King’s being by far the worst.
Sylvain Distin is the wrong side of 30 but still very fit and has only missed two Premier League games in the past two seasons and is an accomplished centre back on his day. Redknapp being the former Pompey manager obviously knows and admires the Frenchman so a move could well come to fruition.
Distin to Spurs: Dependent on the ever changing financial situation at Fratton Park.
