Moyes closes in on a good pair of Championship players.
EVERTON boss David Moyes is preparing a £7m double swoop for Reading striker Kevin Doyle and winger Stephen Hunt.
Doyle, 25, netted 13 goals in his first Premier League season.
New Royals boss Brendan Rodgers said: “There is absolutely no doubt that guys like Kevin Doyle are Premier League players.
“When you come out of the Premier League, especially in the second year of your parachute payments, it becomes very, very difficult to hold on to those players.”

It’s move like these that have become the cornerstone of David Moyes clever transfer strategy. Yes the Scot has occasionally flopped in the transfer market but the intelligent moves for the likes of Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott and Mikel Arteta (moves that in total cost less than £17m in total) show that the Everton boss knows how to make the most of a tight budget.
The Reading pair named by this source are both proven Premier League successes with both Doyle and Hunt showing in the past that they are more than capable of upping their games in the top flight. Add to the mix Steve Coppell’s resignation and you have a situation that could well lead to this move coming to fruition.
Doyle and Hunt to Everton: Quite possible.
