Liverpool Summer Plans Examined: Nine Out in Rafa Clearout?
by Mr Comfort on June 9th, 2009 310 words | 12 commentsWebsite comes up with detailed analysis of exactly what Rafa should do!
Paul Anderson – On the fringes and has spent most of his ‘Pool career on loan. A talented youngster, but a permanent move surely awaits.
Ryan Babel – Arrived at Anfield in 2007 amid comparisons to Thierry Henry. Two underwhelming years later, the Dutch forward may well leave after struggling for playing time. Still has a hugely promising future, just not under Benitez.
Philipp Degen – Due to a series of injuries, the Swiss defender has hardly kicked a ball since signing on a free last year. Perhaps it’s harsh to write him off, but unless Alvaro Arbeloa leaves, young Stephen Darby regresses terribly and Jamie Carragher suffers a terrible injury, it’s hard to see a place for him.
Andrea Dossena – With Emiliano Insua impressing whenever Fabio Aurelio had a spell on the sidelines, the Italian left-back was reduced to sub appearances in an attacking role this term. He scored a couple of crackers late on, but with Rafa needing funds, it looks like a return to Serie A is on the cards.
Adam Hammill – Much like Anderson, the winger hasn’t had a look-in where the first team is concerned and could wave goodbye to Anfield for good. (goal.com)

Again there is solid logic to the players outlined as being liable for an Anfield exit but I can’t help but feel that Ryan Babel deserves another season to prove himself. I think also whoever gets to bag Paul Anderson will be getting a very talented player who will surely make it back to the Premier League some time soon.

Sorry, the whole ‘?’ thing was an accident. I do see some respectable analysis in these summer dealings, however, it is arguable that Ryan Babel should be given another season.

dossena, itandje, anderson, hammil, voronin, leto, pennant are gone. babel will stay 100%.degen and nemeth deserve a chance to show something in pre season before decision’ should be made on their futures.nemeth especially has some serious potential

To be fair to Ryan babel ..he hasnt had much chances..and when he has played ..he has scored to very good goasl and some very important ones to ..he got the winner against Man ure at anfield…he has scored against chelsea and arsenal in the champions league ..he needs more games another season..just play him up front with torres or pair him with kyut..seems to play well with kyut..i think he could tun amok if give enough time playing up front as a striker ..big mistake to sell him …torres, babel, kyut, crouch, tuncay…and possibly owen to…we would have no probs scoring goals next season and would be very cheap …crouch and tuncay about 12 mill…
Donavan Ried - June 10th, 2009 at 4:59 pm
Mark, Will you stop already with this Crouch, Tuncay and owen crap,,,, They many be cheap,(and theres a reason for that) butb the point is that they are not good enough for Liverpool, Quailty is what we need.
Ash T - June 10th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
what about benayoun he was cheap but hes come good and got us some vital goals so i think tuncay and crouch would come good for us not owen tho past his best along time ago
LFCforever - June 10th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
I can’t see Crouch coming nack he left because he wanted more games so no way he’s coming back even if we wanted him.
Tuncay no where near good enough and if he’s the only kind of player we can afford then we should save our money and give the younger players more of a chance.
