Spurs Seal £9m Striker Deal: Has Harry Acted Too Swiftly?
by Steven Constable on June 9th, 2009 2 commentsTime to pack your bags Roman.
The Rumour
Italian giants Roma are poised to open the bidding for Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is known to be willing to listen to offers, despite the Russian striker’s 14 goals in his first season at White Hart Lane.
It is believed Roma are willing to offer around £9million to land the former Spartak Moscow marksman.

The Analysis
Harry Redknapp appears to be a fan of the ‘remove all players not bought by me’ approach to squad building and sees Russian Roman Pavyluchenko as a player he can afford to lose, in fact so much so he is willing to make a big loss on the player who only arrived last summer from Spartak Moscow.
The big forward didn’t have the best of seasons but was by no means a waste of money and he did give his all when in the Spurs shirt and for that he at least garnered the support of the White Hart Lane crowd.
Expect Darren Bent to follow Pavy out the revolving exit doors!
The Likelihood
Pavyluchenko to Roma: Very likely to leave and the Serie A side is as good as any side to have shown an interest.

14 goals is so easy to score in this league.
Look at the huge amount who have scored that much.
And in his first season in a new league to boot.
See ya next yeat and well see how the replacement does.
I have a fiver than he wont get 15.
