Redknapp sets his sights on two quality continental players.
Tottenham are chasing Atletico Madrid captain Maxi Rodriguez and Galatasaray winger Arda Turan.
But the club look to have cooled on Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy after it became apparent he is unlikely to be fully fit until late September.
Midfielder Rodriguez, 28, has a wealth of experience playing in the top flight in Spain and is regarded as one of the best left-sided players in La Liga while Turan, who is right-footed but plays on the left, has been voted one of the best young players in the world.

Harry means business! Both the players named by this source as targets are very talented players who could well perform well in the Premier League.
Vastly experienced Argentine international Maxi Rodriguez is probably best known for his wonder goal against Mexico in the last World Cup and has been immense at Atletico Madrid for the last four years. The 28 year old is a versatile player who can play across the midfield most notably on the right but not really as an out and out winger. He weighs in with his fair share of goals and could be up for a new challenge.
Arda Turan is a nippy pint sized customer with good close control who has been the darling of Turkish public for the past couple of years and his performances for Galatasaray and for his national team have been garnering him a great many plaudits. However last season his team surrendered the title and also missed out on a Champions League berth so the 22 year old may feel it is time to leave even though Frank Rijkaard has just been installed as the new manager.
Maxi and Turan to Spurs: Of the two I rate Maxi as the more likely and the more likely to adapt to the English game.
