Chelsea Set to Seal £19m Serie A Pair Deal

The Rumour
Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is confident the club will strike an agreement with Chelsea for Portugal internationals Deco and Ricardo Carvalho.
The pair have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with Inter boss Jose Mourinho a known admirer having worked with both Deco and Carvalho at Porto.
Experienced centre-back Carvalho endured a frustrating campaign at the Blues last season, while Deco’s debut term in the Premier League started brightly but then faded.

The Analysis
Carlo Ancelotti may well want to start from scratch at Stamford Bridge and therefore he may not be too displeased that these two Chelsea men want to move to Inter Milan to join Jose Mourinho’s Serie A champions, however he will probably miss Ricardo Carvalho a whole lot more than Deco.
The former Barcelona midfielder started last season with a bang but then came off the boil big time and the club can definitely afford to lose his wage from the overall bill. Carvalho on the other hand has been a great servant to the club since he arrived five years ago. Yes the club has a handy centre back pairing of Alex and John Terry to turn too but then they don’t have a great deal in the way of back up other than the decent Ivanovic who can fill in at full back and in the centre of defence.
The new boss probably has a host of players he wishes to bring in before the season begins so I am sure he will address such concerns and could in fact look to his former AC Milan side for defensive back up.
The Likelihood
Deco/Carvalho to Inter Milan: Fairly certain.

Seems an ideal situation for Michael Mancienne to follow in the same footsteps and on the same path as John Terry!!

Mancienne won’t reach even the shadow of Terry as he’s less than avarage…but this double transfer seems to be done, Carvalho can be a loss but Deco was a real massive flop

Deco was a flop at chelsea because it didnt suit his play style. Deco at barcelona and porto he was very good and in his portugal games too. Sad to see he didnt settle.
