Mark Hughes continues his Fantasy Football Purchasing!
Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz is undergoing a medical ahead of a proposed move to Manchester City.
The Paraguay international was the subject of a number of bids from City in January but Rovers boss Sam Allardyce refused to sell the striker.
The 27-year-old was under contract with Blackburn until 2012 and had buy-out clause in his contract for £18m.
But Santa Cruz, who missed the end of the season with a knee injury, now looks to be on his way to Eastlands.
If the deal goes through it will be City’s second signing of the summer, following Gareth Barry’s £12m move from Aston Villa. (BBC Sport)
So Man City‘s intention to throw as much money as possible in an effort to win success in as short a space as possible continues apace.
Now the club appears to have more or less bought the services of Paraguayan Hotshot Roque Santa Cruz they will have to think quick about how to deal with the fact they already have seven international strikers at the club, unless of course Mark Hughes is planning a whole new tactical formation?
