Member of Rafa’s squad looks set for exit.
The Rumour
Liverpool aim to fund the buy through the sale of Alvaro Arbeloa to Real Madrid for around £8m as well as claiming the £7m still owed for Peter Crouch’s move to Fratton Park last summer

The Analysis
This is clearly a deal that is sure to happen. Alvaro Arbeloa, currently in South Africa at the Confederations Cup, finds himself unlikely to be first choice as Liverpool right back after the club finally clinched the signing of Glen Johnson. The Spaniard has already commented on his potential move back to Spain and as a former Real Madrid youth player he would surely love to return.
I don’t see Rafa standing in the way of such a move as it would give him more funds to continue his squad re-shuffle and whilst Arbeloa has served the club well he isn’t a player who will be hugely missed.
Johnson is a far better all round full back than Alvaro and will link up well with Dirk Kuyt or whoever else may be playing directly in front of him at Anfield.
The Likelihood
Arbeloa to Real Madrid: Very likely!
