Liverpool Close to Completing Excellent £14m Trio Deal!

The Rumour
Sebastián Leto, the Liverpool winger, is close to joining Panathinaikos, Andrea Dossena, the left back, could sign for Juventus and Hertha Berlin want to keep Andriy Voronin, who impressed on loan for the German club last season.

Rafa Benitez made an interesting point in a recent interview when he revealed that he could bring in another player to boost the club’s squad’s and intimated that he could bring in even more if he could offload some of the deadwood and with that in mind it appears that things are moving faster with these three Liverpool squad players.
Apparently Hertha Berlin have performed something of a U-turn with regards to Andriy Voronin, who impressed greatly whilst on loan to the Bundesliga side last term. Originally the club were unwilling to consider permanently signing the Ukrainian but now they are said to be considering a move for the striker.
Leto hasn’t played a league game for the Anfield side since joining them two years ago and this has been mainly down to work permit problems but clearly if Benitez was interested in keeping the Argentine left sided player then he would probably try and keep him but that isn’t the case and his deal to join Panahinkaikos is close to being completed. Andrea Dossena’s move to Juventus is said to also be moving towards completion.
This would be excellent news for the club who can then set about re-investing the money in squad building.

and if arbeloa goes thats about 15-20mill mill towards raffas pocket plus 10 mill left from the 20 we had,(since pompy still owe us 7) leaves us with about 25mill, we have a right back sorted and enough for a winger with change

Yer, but don’t forget, that 7m owed by Pompey isn’t an additional 7m in the kitty. It’s not like H&G will have written it off and it is all a bonus. Whilst it may add a few more pennies into the coffers, it probably won’t add too much to the pot.
Still, should have enough for one class player (i.e. Silva) and a couple of good youngsters around 5m mark, or one world class player (Aguero).

i’d prefer villa than silva but i thought we were more likely to get silva, aint been keeping upto date much with our transfers, but i heard about he said he wopuld only join the prem to join liverpool but have we got the money for him

well torres the other day said he wants villa at liverpool and then villa said he made up his mind up on which club he wants to be at and the mardrid talks have stalled plus rafa said the other day we got the money for one big signing plus we wouldnt have to pay all the money at once and it looks like mascherano is going since he keeps talking about how great mardrid and barca are and since his wife is ”unhappy” in england so money from that can go towards villa if needed

No more sales required from us (inc. Masch and Xabi), unless we can offload any of the following:-
Jermaine Pennant (going on a free)
Philipp Degen
Charles Itandje
Nabil El Zhar (may stay, but don’t think he will make the grade)
Jack Hobbs (may have already gone?)
………………. also the likes of Lindfield, Anderson and Hammill etc
Rafa should then go and get Villa and Silva and I would be happy. I would possibly go and get Owen on a free as well and send Ngog on loan.
Possible forwards of Torres, Villa, Owen, Kuyt and Babel would be nice eh!
Maybe Babel could go on loan for a year as well with the possibility to be recalled if needed due to injuries

We’ve got Johnson (paid too much) for £17.5m (i know crouch fee taken off it).
Were selling the deawood for around £20m hopefully.
So sign Richards as cover for Johnson and centre backs for around £8m.
Then if Masch wants 2 go (I hope he doesn’t) thn make sure Yaya Toure is part of the deal. Young and equally as good. We should get money from the deal as well.
Also Arbeloa looks 2 b going 2 Real for £8m (pos complete re-invest in Micah?)
Ive heard we are in the hunt for Villa and/or Silva. I personnaly think we have’nt got the money for them unless a big name is sold (which i hope doesn’t happen!)
If i were Rafa i’d snap up the cheaper alternative of Sneijder, Robben and Huntelaar. Furthermore, either Diarra at real would add midfield cover.
so we’d have Johnson, Robben, Richards, Toure, Sneijder and Huntelaar. pluasible u must agree?

selling masch n alonso would be the mistake that sets back our title challenge another few years! special players arnt easily replaced. what other DM is as good as masch? also only passing players as gud as alonso are at barca!
keep both, against their will if necessary! bring in Silva and a front man and no. 19 could well be comin home

i like ash t s thinking. 20 millish with about 20 million gained from flogging dead wood will buy us a world class winger and possibly some striking back up for around 8 mil like a loan move for lavezzi, fernando llorente or even owen on a free. we could also get some youngsters.
all this without selling alonso or mascherano, this would be great.
i have heard that inter are interested in buying lucas for 20+ mil, why they would want him i dont know but this would be brill and we could possibly think of offloading riera for around 12mil. this could help us with villa.

we had 20 million fact. 17 of that has been spent on johnson but they still owe us 7million so we will pay 10million. <correct! Voronin will bring us 4million leto 2million and dossena 6miliion so that is 12million, if u work it out instead of just putting around 20million u will get a more accuate result! so anyway 22million in the kitty we could flog Degan for 2million and Intadje for 1million which gives us 30million. If we are lucky rafa could sell Arboloa10million and Riera for 12 million which would give us 52million. From there it all depends on who rafa wants to buyhe could use 40 million to buy villa then pay 12 million for lennon or 18million for Silva and Aguro for 34million.

One thing we should all remember is that if a player is worth 25 million, we may not pay that much initially, therefore not needing 25 million in the kitty. However the only problem is clubs buying our players may try the same. Also note that Valencia would probably want the whole fee up front for their players with their debt problems.

veronin,leto and dossena can go to their destiny. i wont be missing them in the hurry! dont know about signing david villa as a lot of fans seems to like him. he is a good player. but i was watching the confederation cup semi- final this morning. how greedy he was with the ball. there was1 or 2 chance that he could put into torres path. but no! villa wants to be a hero to save spain. he just blasted over the bar. i just feel sympathy for torres to have such partner. dont think would be good signing.
