Rafa looks to strengthen his defence.
Dynamo Moscow defender Leandro Fernandez is interesting Liverpool.
Moscow sources say the Reds and Lazio have both held preliminary talks with Dynamo, according to reports in Russia, but they are reluctant to let the Argentine leave for less than £8.5million.
The 26-year-old has only been on the fringes of the national team but would not need a work permit because he holds an Italian passport.
The solid defender has been a favourite at Dynamo since joining from River Plate in 2006 and was named the club’s player of the year in his first season in the Russian Premier League.

In the past few years Russia has become a home away from home for South American footballers looking for a stepping stone into the big leagues of European football. Players such as Jo and Fernando Cavenghi have used this route and Vagner Love will surely do so soon enough and perhaps Argentine Leandro will be on his way to the Premier League this summer.
Liverpool may feel another centre back on the books may be a wise signing given the fact that Sami Hyypia has left the club leaving the club with three solid centre backs in the shape of Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger and Jamie Carragher and therefore Rafa may need another to beef up numbers especially in today’s age of 50+ game seasons.
Leandro to Liverpool: One of those back burner deals that could well happen.
