Apparently a done deal!
Sir Alex Ferguson finally stepped into the transfer market last night after clinching the £15.25million signing of Antonio Valencia from Wigan.
And now Fergie is setting his sights on capturing £40m hot-shot Karim Benzema from Lyon AND Udinese’s Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez.
Hotline understands United have reached agreement with Wigan chairman Dave Whelan for the 23-year-old Ecuadorian SIGNED: winger Valencia.

So this source considers this deal done, which may well be jumping the gun a little, but does seem to be a move that will take place sooner or later. The Wigan man impressed me greatly over the past 18 months and regardless of the speculation last season he did wonderfully well at the JJB and has now earned the right to look for a move up the footballing ladder after giving the Latics three good seasons of service.
Whilst a totally different kind of winger to Cristiano Ronaldo I can see the Ecuadorian fitting in superbly at Old Trafford. A far less explosive character both on and off the field he is more likely to fit into the team ethic that Sir Alex looks for from his team.
All in all given the amount of money Man United got from Real Madrid and how less than a quarter of the fee was needed to nab Valencia, I think the club can feel relatively pleased with their summer’s wheeling and dealing thus far.
Valencia to Man United: Only a matter of time!
