And so it continues….
Barcelona are preparing a major bid for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.
The Daily Star says Barca will step up their £35m move for Cesc after missing out on Franck Ribery.
The Spanish and European champions feel the French midfielder Ribery will join Real Madrid.
So they will now turn their focus to Fabregas, who has been on the Nou Camp club’s wanted list since last summer.
A Spanish source said yesterday: “The club are convinced that Fabregas wants to play for Barcelona, despite what he has been saying about staying at Arsenal. It will all come down to money.
“Barcelona feel £35m would be enough to turn Arsenal’s heads.”

And here we go again! Fabregas has been the architect of some of this rumour mongering but it’s Barcelona who are really to blame for this whole fiasco. Cesc made a throwaway comment a month or so ago about how he would love to work with Pepe Guardiola, not a clever thing to say, but not exactly a come and get me plea.
Well now it appears the La Liga side is cranking up the dialogue by working out exactly how much it would take to pry him away from the Emirates, and let me tell you something, in today’s market that offer is frankly an insult. Consider the obscene amounts paid for Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo and add into the mix that Cesc is younger than both and has a very long term contract in place.
Arsene Wenger would never consider selling the midfield genius and the Gunners skipper came out with an official statement distancing himself from the rumours in the hope that it would stop the rumour mill from spinning wildly…it failed!
Fabregas to Barcelona: Not for a few years yet!
