Once again Anfield comes under attack from tapping up experts!
Barcelona will make an opening offer for Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano in the coming days.
The Times says Barcelona are set to test Liverpool’s resolve to keep Mascherano by making a £25.7 million bid for the Argentina midfield player this week.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reluctant to lose Mascherano and is understood to rate the Argie closer to £35 million.

Boy that is a precise bid to tempt Rafa isn’t it, £25.7m, nice and exact, but will Rafa tell them to stuff themselves? I think so, but what will Javier say? He seems to have had his head turned a little by the speculation, and his agent is doing his best to make the whole thing come together, which is what agents do, which is why they are scum!
To the matter at hand. Mascherano is a player the club can ill afford to lose and Benitez made it clear he wasn’t go sell the Argentine or Xabi Alonso, but that hasn’t put an end to the constant tapping up from Barcelona and Real Madrid, and there is a very real chance that one or both may want to leave and in which case the Liverpool boss must demand the highest fees possible.
Mascherano to Barcelona: I don’t think so, not for that price anyway!
