Manchester United Confirm Great £3m Bargain Wing Wizard Buy!

The Rumour
Manchester United will announce the signing of Bordeaux winger Gabriel Obertan today.
The Times says United will announce the signing of Obertan from Bordeaux for £3 million today.
Obertan, 20, will put pen to paper on a four-year contract after undergoing a medical yesterday with a view to becoming United’s third signing of the summer, following Antonio Valencia, another winger, recruited from Wigan Athletic for £15.25 million, and Michael Owen, a free transfer from Newcastle United.

The Analysis
So Sir Alex continues to pick up some intelligent signings this summer and this latest one is really a bargain. The 20 year old can play in a number of positions across the midfield but most notably as an out and out winger, he’s got a good turn of pace for a relatively tall player and is on the verge of being called up to the senior French set-up.
Man United will still be hoping to sign some big names before the transfer window snaps shut and obviously have a lot of money to spend but this capture, along with those of Luis Antonio Valencia and Michael Owen, represent really good value for money and maybe are a sign of the way the club is going to invest in the future, which seems wise given the current financial climate.

Looks a good player, good turn of pace with a lot of trickery.
Would have to say uniteds best summer signing.

@Fact,
True he can turn a player, but he can’t score goals. This will turn united in to a laughing stock if Fergie thinks he’ll replace Ronaldo. Not that anyone can!!!
No, this is a young player who needs alot of coaching before he can even think about breaking in to the United line up.

I agree with you ruth about him not being good enough at the moment but the potential is there from what i have seen of him. A gamble on man u’s part that may come good. He is still their best summer signing though ha ha ha.

@Fact…. yes he sure is the most promising one yet. Valencia was a waste of money, owen was a waste of money even at £0. What is Fergie up to? Suppose its good for the rest of us!!!
Anyway, I bet Obertan out scores Owen this year! LOL

ha ha that stupid big red nosed wanker, owen then this what a wanker

I agree this is a very strange signing for United.
Oberton was a promising player, but has failed to make it in to the Bordeux line-up. Last season he was lent to Lorient (who I think are a 2nd division French club) and he failed to make an impact.
So why have United stepped in with 3million for a player who to the outside world has still got a lot to prove?
Oh and Ruth England (if that is your name) is correct in her point that he can’t score…. a winger that can’t score isn’t worth much in my books.
Well I guess time will tell on this one. He may improve under the united coaches, then again he may be sold to some other team in 3 years time.

Oh BTW mancs HE’S INJURED…. hahahaha if signing Michael “O O O my knee hurts I’ll have to sit this one out until the next England game” Owen wasn’t enough you’ve gone and bought an injured player.
Can’t wait to see you sitting in mid table or even battling to avoid relegation next year!!!!
Hahahahaha SAF has got 80m for your best player and he’s wasting it all on retards.
