Chelsea Skipper John Terry Looks for Excuses to Fulfill £50m Man City Move!
by Steven Constable on July 12th, 2009 17 commentsEngland Captain thinks of a way to leave the club without appearing to be a money grabbing mercenary…fails!
John Terry: Driven by the desire to earn as much as is humanly possible?
The Rumour
John Terry and Roman Abramovich were locked in crisis talks last night.
The Chelsea star met the club’s billionaire owner at the Cobham training ground.
Terry asked for the chance to hear what Manchester City want to offer him.
Cash-rich City, funded by their Abu Dhabi United backers, are poised to table a new, third bid for Terry.
They will put £50million on the table, believing it is the offer Chelsea can’t refuse.
Chelsea have insisted that 28-year-old Terry will not be sold at any price, but yesterday’s meeting with Abramovich could spark a change in policy.
It is not just the opportunity of becoming the highest paid player in English football, on £250,000 a-week at City, that is sparking Terry’s unrest.
He has confided in friends that he has been unhappy at Chelsea for several months and has been concerned by the club’s transfer policy and the lack of impact some major signings have had.

The Analysis
John Terry is not coming across very well in recent stories linking him with a move to Man City, in fact he looks like someone desperately scrambling for reasons to justify his potential exit from the club that he has served for his entire footballing career. It’s a sad state of affairs when a one man club appears to value a huge pay offer from Man City higher than his loyalty to Chelsea.
He can dress it up anyway he sees fit but his stating that he is unhappy about the fact his west London employers didn’t discuss with him the interest shown in him from another club is merely a ruse, either to earn himself another huge pay rise, and remember he is in the top five earners in the Premier League as it is, or so that he can try to claim that he was forced to leave the club.
Carlo Ancelotti was very wise when he stated in a recent press interview that if the Blues captain wants to leave he can only do so by issuing a transfer request therefore cleverly putting the onus on Terry to make the first move, something he doesn’t want to do because it will make him look like a money grabbing so and so. This will rumble on and on but I tell you what, It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he took the offer from Eastlands!
The Likelihood
John Terry to Man City: Seemed crazy a few weeks back but seems far more plausible now.

I think Ancelotti should just sell him. Terry is acting like a cunt. He’s been with Chelsea all his playing days but the mere mention of more money sets the cash register off in his brain. Oh well, it’s like this all over the fucking place though.
But then again, Chelsea bought the title, so why can’t City?

Looks like they will drop out of the top four now for sure.
Where they belong team with no history.
Hear they going to have an over 30 year old league.Wow that way they can win something. At the moment they are the biggest laughing stock with a big bank account.

i just cant believe terry would go to city, all the players they have bought or are seriously linked with have been mercenaries, but the chelsea and england captain, i would never have put him in that group. well let him go and get his money, and while he is there see if they want to take drogba as well

We dont have to worry what message this sends to the youth – they have the message already – they will never get a chance and be told not good enough. Why do we have a youth set up when we wont try them – we need to try them to see if not good enough! Lot of unrest in youth and reserves, players realise they have potential but going nowhere….the likes of Woods, Taiwo, Offori, Mellis all involved with england set up – not now! The loan players are loaned and loaned again – club knows they are assets but dont know what to do with them…….would have a liked a manager with balls who brought his own staff and training – seems like a puppet that abramovich/arnesen pull the strings……..Nouble gone to West Ham, Tejera to Mallorca, Sahar to Spain, Stoch handed in transfer request…….there are big cracks that no-one knows how to fill…….
