Rafa considers move for up and coming midfielder.
Everton face local competition for Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour.
The Mirror says the youngster is on Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez’s radar as a replacement for Xabi Alonso.
Everton offered £12 million for Defour last week.

Steven Defour is a damn good player who has impressed even when representing an average national team in an average league and now he is destined to make the step up and is keen on a move to the Premier League to join his former teammate Marouane Fellaini, who managed to make the adjustment to the English top tier just fine.
Defour has been compared to Steven Gerrard on a number of occasions, and whilst this is never a good thing for an up and coming footballer and can tend to dog a player’s career, the young Belgian does have similar attributes to the Liverpool skipper albeit obviously not at the same high level.
Rafa Benitez is keen to inject more and more young talent into his Anfield squad and a move for the Standard Liege man would be a clever one but the only stumbling block would be persuading the youngster that he would have a decent shot at run in the first team, which would of course be more likely if Xabi Alonso does indeed leave the club.
Defour to Liverpool: A distinct possibility.
