Man United Sign Diouf, Not the Spitty Crap One: So Was Sir Alex Lying?
by Mad Dog and Glory on July 17th, 2009 298 words | 6 commentsFerguson buys another player, even though he swore he wouldn’t!
Mame Biram Diouf, a 21-year-old Senegalese striker who currently plays Norway for Molde, has been signed by Manchester United – despite the fact that manager Sir Alex Ferguson insisted he would not be buying any more players this summer only days ago.
Diouf is set to join the English champions in January, pending a medical, and will remain in Norway until then, Molde said on their website.
“Mame Biram Diouf will go through medical checks at Manchester United next week and will join the club in January,” the club said.
Speaking at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today, Ferguson said: “We’ve been looking at him for two years.
“We weren’t intending on signing anyone else after last week – we feel we have a full squad – but the situation accelerated to a point where other clubs started to make bids, so we had to decide whether we acted or didn’t act. “We decided to act and he’ll be the last person we sign.” (Daily Mirror)
I am sure that when United fans saw headlines spreading across the internet and the red top backpages about the club signing Diouf they must have done a double take and perhaps even had mild heart-attacks, turns out it was Senegalese youngster Mame Biram and not El Hadji they had snapped up.
Yes Sir Alex had said he wouldn’t be buying any more players, but I am sure that many realised that this was in fact not entirely true. Whether club’s spending stops here is in question, after all there will be many fans who don’t think that Michael Owen and Luis Antonio Valencia constitute an effect replacement pair for Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.

Alex ferguson aint got an honest bone in his body. It makes me laugh when players liken him to a father figure, i mean how thick are these united players exactly can they not work out in their thick heads that he is only nice to you while you are of use to him.
This season he will come unstuck, in FACT i wil boldly predict now that man utd will not win another premier league title whilst alex lergyson is in charge.

yeah well at least he is not as bad as benitez and us manu fans don’t need to predict anything its a FACT that liverpool won’t win the premierleague with benitez in charge.
He hasn’t got the calibre to get liverpool that far he will spit out his dummy when things don’t go liverpools way as he always does rather than do something constructive.
Anyone who doubts SAF ability is a fool and doesn’t know anything about football, its the equiverlant of saying messi’s shit in fact its worse because SAF has a better record.
Liverpool third this season gotta be unless man city or arsenal do well then 4th or 5th, the only way for liverpool is down.

You can’t compare Benitez’s first years to Saf’s coz in saf’s earlier days only 1 team went in to the champions cup, Benitez wouldn’t have won the european cup had he not won his own domestic league when Saf started at United.
So basically all Benitez would’ve had to show for his first 5 years is, a league cup and FA cup compared to Saf’s european cup winners cup and FA cup.
