Fantastic deal on the table!
Real Madrid are reportedly set to offer Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder in an attempt to persuade Liverpool to sell Xabi Alonso.
Real have been persistent in their pursuit of Liverpool’s Spanish midfielder this summer, but Rafael Benitez has so far been reluctant to part with the 27-year-old.
Reports now suggest Real are lining up an improved offer for Alonso and the Reds may be forced to accept, as Alonso is believed to be keen on a return to his homeland.
The Spanish media have suggested that Real may offer Dutch international Sneijder as part of the deal to try and tempt Liverpool to sell.

The current financial climate has made player swaps a more attractive proposition when it comes to sealing transfer deals, for one club it represents having to invest less money to get the player they wish to sign and for the other it helpfully replaces the talent exiting without having to once again go into the choppy waters of the market to bring in a replacement.
Wesley Sneijder is a fantastic player who’s quality can not be contested and even though he hasn’t bedded in too well at the Bernabeu he is still one of the best attacking midfielders in the world today and if Xabi Alonso were indeed to leave then such a deal would be a pretty good way to conclude the deal.
If as this report suggests, Real Madrid would also add some money to sweeten the deal all the better. Whilst the former Ajax man is not a like for like replacement for Xabi, being a little more attacking and also a good wide midfielder as well, he would be a fine addition to the Liverpool starting eleven.
Sneijder to Liverpool in swap deal: If there was a deal to persuade Rafa to allow Alonso to leave then this could well be it!
