Redknapp looks to improve strike force
Redknapp broke away from Tottenham’s pre-season preparations last week to meet Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s representatives, with Tottenham ready to pay £18m for the Dutchman. Redknapp told them the club was prepared to make Huntelaar their highest-paid player.

If Harry Redknapp manages to bag the impressive Dutchman it would serve as a reminder to the top six and perhaps even the top four, that Spurs are attempting to mount an improved challenge as they seek to improve their playing squad.
Klaas Jan Huntelaar had seemingly been about to sign up to Bundesliga side Stuttgart but then backed out when serious offers came in for a number of other clubs, including from the White Hart Lane boss. Now the Real Madrid man must make his mind up as he seems destined to leave the La Liga side before he becomes lost in amongst the Galaticos.
Even though Redknapp has a host of good strikers he seems keen to sell at least half of his current international quartet, with Darren Bent and Roman Pavyluchenko the most likely to depart. The former Ajax man did reasonably well in Spain given his lack of playing time and went some way to proving that he can score goals outside of the Eredivisie where he was a veritably goal machine.
Huntelaar to Spurs: One to watch out for.
