Two up and coming forwards have caught Wenger’s attention
Arsenal are considering moving for Toulouse striker Andre-Pierre Gignac as a replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor.
Gignac, 23, was the French league’s top scorer last season and has been the subject of a £13million bid from Lyon – but Toulouse want closer to £18m.
Arsenal, armed with £25m from Adebayor’s sale to Manchester City, had scouts watch Gignac on Friday night in a friendly against Bordeaux who had Marouane Chamakh in their line up.
Arsene Wenger is an admirer of Sunderland target Chamakh.

Wenger made a pretty penny from selling troublesome striker Emmanuel Adebayor and it seems that the Arsenal boss wants to go out into the transfer market and spend it immediately, which goes somewhat against his usual desire to not go crazy around this time of year.
André-Pierre Gignac may not be a household name but he did finish top scorer in the Ligue 1 last season with unfashionable Toulouse, elevating them to fourth spot in the French league and earning himself an international call up and the attention of Mr. Wenger. The 23 year old will no doubt be very interested in moving to the Emirates and possibly in homage to the great Thierry Henry Andre has just switched his squad number to 14 for the coming season.
A more likely capture comes in the form of Marouane Chamakh, the Moroccan already very much a favourite of the Gunners boss, the Bordeaux man seems very likely to seal a move to the Premier League side and only a matter of haggling over the fee stands in his way.
Chamakh/Gignac to Arsenal: Possibly too soon for the Toulouse man but Marouane seems very likely to move to the north London.
