Craig Bellamy Wants to Fight for His Man City Place: Good Luck With That!
by Mad Dog and Glory on July 20th, 2009 2 commentsIs the mild mannered Welshman essentially saying he is happy to collect his massive pay packet whilst warming the bench?
Craig Bellamy remains committed to fighting for his place at Manchester City, despite the summer arrivals of Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor.
Bellamy returned from injury to play 45 minutes of City’s 2-0 loss to Orlando Pirates in Polokwane on Saturday, the first game of their three-match tour of South Africa.
Bellamy has been linked with a move away from Eastlands, but the Welsh international has no intention of going anywhere.
“That (the new signings) was the reason I joined the club … I knew this was going to happen,” said Bellamy.
“This is my last chance to have a right good end to my career. If I am fit, I am more than able to fight for my place, and that is what I am concentrating on”. (Daily Mirror)
So Craig Bellamy wants to fight for his place does he? Or does he simply want to collect his massive pay packet until Mark Hughes realizes its a little too much to pay for a player who is only likely to get on the pitch for Carling Cup ties?
Consider who is ahead of the Welsh nutcase in the starting eleven queue. Robinho, Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz! Four international strikers of proven Premier League quality. Look on the bright side Craig, plenty of time for you to improve your golf game?
