The Rumour
Lazio are eyeing Arsenal defender William Gallas.
Corriere dello Sport says Lazio chief Ighli Tare is considering a move for Gallas as they prepare for the sales of David Rozehnal to Hamburg and Lorenzo De Silvestri to Fiorentina.
Gallas is inside the final year of his contract and Tare is hopeful of landing him for a cut-price fee.

The Analysis
William Gallas’s antics in an Arsenal shirt have gone from the sublime to the damn right insane in the last 18 months and his public spat with Kolo Toure has in many ways led to the Ivorian seemingly heading for the Emirates exit and whilst many Gunners fans would appreciate the playing side of the former Chelsea man they have probably had enough of his craziness and would gladly offload the defender as long as Wenger is planning an addition or two for their backline.
On the field of play the Frenchman has been pretty consistent but his weird behaviour at Birmingham at the end of the season before last, he then lost the club captaincy after an interview with the Associated Press during which he revealed the tensions within the club and he was badly missed for the last six weeks of the season with injury, during which time the club’s defensive frailties were all to clear.
Ajax Captain Thomas Vermaelen was brought in but clearly if the club were to lose Gallas and Toure then the boss would have to go back out into the transfer market rather than having to rely on Johann Djourou or Philippe Senderos.
The Likelihood
Gallas to Lazio: He may just be tempted by a fresh challenge in Italy and Wenger may not stand in his way.

Whatever Gallas’ mental issues he is an excellent defender, without doubt our best out & out defender (Clichy is a better player overall).
Things are not looking good if we lose Gallas & Toure, looks like it’s gonna be a Djourou & Vermaelen pairing, not good news!!
Hangeland is not the answer to replace these two, will be lucky to get into the Champs league at this rate.

I would much rather see the back of Gallas than Kolo.
Toure epitomises Arsenal, he is the true embodiment of the modern Gooner so why on earth the board would consider selling him, and to another Premiership side at that is beyond insanity.
In my eyes it sends out a message that Arsenal are all to happy to hand their top four position to Manchester City. I thought we were looking to end our barren years not make it worse…

all these transfers this time round and lest year tto, mean there is something or someone at the club making people unhappy. I suspect it is tight fisted Wenger and the board at the club. may be other reasons. One thing is for sure, someone is pissing people off to the point they want “Out”
Wenger AND the board should go

I say the real problem is too many peopel trying to take over arsenal, and even using players as political tools in their bid for arsenal. Like getting rid of tuore could be the move of a few board members; to make the others welcome arsenal being bought out by rich owners. Its tearing arsenal apart quite frankly, like newcastle was. If we arnt careful we will suffer the same fate as em.
Maybe we should just be bought out by someone to stop all the infighting within arsenal, only it would be a shame as arsenal are the last english owned club in the premier league…
