Liverpool Boss Wants £11m Brazilian to Partner Torres

The Rumour
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez remains keen on Cruzeiro striker Kleber.
The 25 year-old revealed last month that Liverpool had made an offer for him.
And Globoesporte says Liverpool are still interested and Kleber could be the next to follow new Villarreal signing Nilmar to leave the Brazilian championship for a big European club.

The Analysis
Many sources have been quoting Rafa as being a big fan of the Cruzeiro striker Kleber for some time and now it appears that Liverpool are keen on putting in another offer to secure the former Dynamo Kiev forward, but I don’t see it happening myself.
Ask any Reds fans and they will tell you that the club could well do with another front man, either to play alongside Fernando Torres or to act as back up. This is no surprising when you consider the club is not overly blessed with other options up front. Dirk Kuyt has done a fantastic job in his new position out on the right but can of course fill in if needed, David N’Gog just doesn’t seem ready for the Premier League yet and I guess Ryan Babel could be used as an out and out striker if needed, in fact it could be a positional move that could resurrect his career.
The club also has some damn fine youngsters coming through in this area most notably in the shape of Krisztián Németh. There is no doubting that Kleber has talent but at 25 he is hardly up and coming and relatively inexperienced when it comes to European football and therefore in many ways would be a risky signing to make.
The Likelihood
Kleber to Liverpool: Don’t see it happening.

he would be a good signing IF Kleber was around £7-8M but if he’s more than £10M then i would go for a different striker, get Lavezzi p/e with dossena
Lavezzi is much better than Kleber

Never heard of him and i would get Lavezzi with Dossena going the other way too!!!

If we sell Alonso to Real then I think Rafa really will sign Aquilani, and with the rest of the cash i think we would be right in doing a player plus cash deal for Lavezzi (most likely Dossena), and with the spare cash we should try and get a bargain in the form of Distin but i know Rafa is very interested in Turner of Hull.

We need a striker, but a quality one…. And Kleber doesn’t quite fit the bill for me

i recon that rafa should get negredo p/e of arbeloa and a few million on top of that aswell. this would be a great signing as he is not wanted at madrid even though he scored 19 goals in la liga last season whilst on loan to almeria

Dossena to Napoli may not happen. They don’t want to pay him his current weekly wages. Can’t say I blame them.

Still think we could get Huntelaar on the cheap. He’s not wanted at Madrid he’s a quality striker. Could probably get him for around £10M. He be a good back up and also could play up front with Torres against the weaker teams.
