Arsenal Want £30m De Rossi: What a Load Of Rubbish!

De Rossi: So good he can levitate!
Arsene Wenger’s preferred midfield target this summer is the Roma and Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi, and despite the Italian club’s reluctance to sell Arsenal have not given up hope that Roma’s perilous financial position could force a sale.
Like Liverpool’s pursuit of De Rossi’s Roma team-mate Alberto Aquilani, the player’s future is bound up with the financial problems of the club and the long-term plans of the Sensi family who own it. De Rossi, 26, is regarded as the most important player at the club behind Francisco Totti and is valued at around £30m, which is far in excess of any transfer fee paid by Arsenal in the past. Personally as a Gooner I would love to have seen that kind of investment in a player who could well fill one big gaping void in the squad but it simply won’t happen. Yes we have some cash but Wenger is more astute than to blow it all on one player, and even in today’s inflated transfer market, how the hell if De Rossi valued so highly?
I have been crossing my fingers for the past 36 hours in the hope that this might somehow cause the club to confirm the signing of Patrick Vieira, pretty sure if I continue much longer I will get gangrene, but it’s a price I am willing to pay.
To those who state, fairly obviously, that Paddy isn’t the same player he was four years ago, I would say ‘bah humbug’ and say that whilst the Frenchman isn’t a long term solution he could still be a very useful signing. Three successive Serie A titles whilst at Inter Milan would suggest he still has something in the tank, even if last term he wasn’t a regular starter.
So that’s a big fat no way on the De Rossi thing and a big fat yes please on the Paddy thing, got it! Good!

If Arsene Wenger was going to spend that much money i’m sure he would rather secure the services of someone with the ability of Franck Ribery.
