North London outfit targets another veteran defensive midfielder.
HARRY REDKNAPP may move for Bayern Munich skipper Mark van Bommel after missing out on Patrick Vieira.
Tottenham boss Redknapp should be able to sign the veteran Dutch midfielder, 32, for less than the £5million Bayern paid Barcelona for his services three years ago.
Redknapp wants an experienced leader in the centre of the park. And with 47 caps for Holland, former PSV Eindhoven ace Van Bommel fits the bill.

It seems that Patrick Vieira doesn’t like the idea of moving to his former arch rivals and now that the chase for the Inter Milan man has run cold Harry Redknapp is looking to another veteran battler to join the club in the former of vastly experienced midfielder Mark van Bommel.
The Tottenham boss is slowly trying to totally change the squad he inherited when he joined the club from Portsmouth and the latest target is a player who has literally won it all. 32 year old Dutch enforcer has won six league titles in three countries and is a Champions League winner who may just be ready for his next, and perhaps last, challenge to conquer in the Premier League.
Not averse to a poorly timed tackle Van Bommel could thrive in England but may also be keen to remain at Bayern Munich now that Dutch Legend Louis Van Gaal has been appointed boss but it’s well worth Harry registering his interest.
