Let’s hope his finishing is better than his poor attempt at lying!
Blanc and Chamakh in happier times!
Marouane Chamakh is reportedly in London to discuss a move to Arsenal and has hit out at current employers Bordeaux.
The 25-year-old Moroccan international is a target for both Arsenal and Sunderland and is apparently in London as the Gunners edge closer to securing a deal for the talented striker.
Arsenal are thought to have seen a £5million bid rejected by the Ligue 1 side for Chamakh, who has just one year left on his deal, though it is thought the player is in London against his current employer’s wishes.
Chamakh missed Bordeaux’s clash with Villarreal on Sunday after telling coach Laurent Blanc he was ill, but it would seem he has instead chosen to come to England and talk to Arsenal.
Blanc confirmed he was told he could not participate in the match against the Spanish side. He said: “I received a phone call on Saturday evening. He told me he was sick and I am forced to believe it.”
Chamakh has now launched an attack on Bordeaux as he is eager to move to the Emirates and now says he will walk for free next summer if the club don’t grant him his wish of a move to Arsenal.
“I am angry, I am disgusted and I do not understand why they (Bordeaux) have done that,” Chamakh told French newspaper L’Equipe when asked about the rejected Arsenal bid. “One thing is certain, I will not be signing a new contract – if they will not let me go now, I will leave for free.
“If a solution cannot be found quickly, everyone will lose. Frankly I really do not want to start the season with Bordeaux.”
“Joining Arsenal is my dream. My agents are in talks with Arsenal and I really hope it will go off smoothly. I don’t want to start a trail of strength with my officials.” (Eat Sleep Football)
Interesting. I think we can take from Marouane’s comments that he is not keen on playing for Bordeaux again! As for the lying part, well that’s just plain idiotic and not likely to get a deal done any quicker.
Reminds me of the time I bunked off school only to be caught walking the streets of the west end (not in any illegal activity I might add) only to bump into my head of year having told him not two hours earlier that I was not feeling well enough to leave my sickbed, embarrassing to say the least as I was marched back to school!
Anyway Chamakh seems the most likely striker on the Adebayor replacement list if by no means the most well known I have every faith that Wenger knows what he is doing, I only hope he doesn’t try out his brand of idiotic lying with Arsene!
